You know those tv episodes where the whole plot is revealed via conversations with a third party, where we don't actually see the action but can see the plot unfold by reading between the lines of what the characters are saying? Like the "Testimony" episode of Veep or "Bed, banter and beyond" from Scrubs? This interview is like watching one of those episodes.

Look at how it starts, by Deepika talking about her "love" for Ranbir- it's a very warm, effusive answer, she doesn't bother to clarify anything about their equation changing or them growing apart-nothing. it's all honey, all serving the "these two are still in love with each other" narrative that the team seems to be trying to sell. Then Ranbir joins in but he is more guarded, qualifies his feelings by saying Deepika is like family and that love"changes". Then somewhere down the line he can't do it anymore and the claws come out, in a surprising place. The interviewer asks what he likes about DP and he comes up with the most backhanded compliment ever-"she says the wrong thing, she is obnoxious, she is rude (and one "she can be nice") etc, but it's all genuine". And the "she is a flirt" casually thrown in the second answer. And now DP loses her chill too "There are more things I dislike about him than like about him". Pretty vicious, haha! No more playing nice for the camera. Now it's all "I can never figure him out or at least I couldn't when we were together" which is a far cry from her first answer painting them as extremely in tune with each other. Now the truth comes out.

It's so funny, it's like they started off with the best intentions to sell their equation and then chips start to form in the armour and then by the end of it the entire facade has crumbled and they are back to reality. Lol. One thing I have learnt is that DP is much better at playing a part than Ranbir is, contrary to what they say. Or maybe Kat is not as understanding as Ranveer or RK has more bitterness towards DP than vice versa. One of those.

Also they gave away the entire plot of the film so there is that.

This interview just says how much they hate each other. But doing these stuffs for promotion.
The way Deepika said I do the promotion thing as way the producer wants it.
She doesnt know the thgs she likes in him. 😆 She is way over him long time ago.
His opinions holds no importance to her. She actually accepted cocktail movie. That movie turned her life and best thg happened to her. He is saying that in an interview he wanted her not to do it. Ranbir you r losing it man.
Oh man. He didnt take Katrina name. Feel sorry for her. She loves him too much. He didnt even took Priyanka name she is best costar/ grt performer too.
Deepika answer actually blown me away. She has to take Ranbir as he is her co-star, then she took Irfan name as he is powerhouse performer. She took Ranveer name which happens to in love too but he is actually versatile actor.

And no mention of Priyanka by Ranbir who is actually more talented than all his costars combined till date? Weird 😕

Because he's a typical chauvinist jerk just like the rest of the Kapoors. Anyway, he insults her regularly so this is nothing new.

She really should just avoid him and stop working with him. He needs her more right now than vice versa.

He's bitter because she ruined his reputation by revealing him as a liar and cheater on national TV. I think it's really affected his fan base. People don't think highly of him and Deepika's words have stuck to him even now after all these years. He hasn't been able to win over people.

I liked reading your take on the interview more than the actual interview😆

TBH the interview is quite cringe-worthy to read for it's off the charts levels of pretentiousness😆

Two things are for certain...Deepika can never stop pushing the "I have a special equation with RK" narrative and RK can never rise above the permanent mildly annoyed look he has on his face in her presence as if he finds her pesky😆...I guess it speaks of their inherent personalities also...DP can't help but be a pile-on even if someone is outrightly rejecting her/showing their lack of interest and RK can't be bothered putting on a show of genuine camaraderie for all the great actor he otherwise supposedly is.

Both of them did this movie only to chipko to Imtiaz😆

Usually Deepika seems chipkoo but in this interview, she sounds like she hates him. She couldn't even come up with anything when asked about what she likes about Ranbir.

I think she was willing to play the game for the movie promotion but Ranbir's insults got to her and she stopped playing as well.

Calling her rude, flirt, obnoxious...
