Sidharth Malhotra started his Bollywood
journey three years ago with Student Of The
Year (SOTY; 2012). Today, he is considered
one of the most sought-after names among
the younger crop of actors in the industry.
Right now, Sidharth is busy working on his
upcoming films, one of which is being
produced by Karan Johar. Talking about the
comfort level he shares with the film-maker,
the actor says, "Before getting my first break
as an actor, I had worked with Karan as an
assistant director (on My Name Is Khan;
2010). He is my mentor, and I've learnt a lot
from him. Because of the equation I share
with him, working with him is a little easier."
Sidharth, who has done only four Bollywood
films so far, says he likes to be "selective"
about his work. "I like to focus more on the
kinds of roles I want to do. As new actors, I
don't think we need to constantly take up
projects just to be in the limelight. It's always
good to focus on qualitative work," he says.
In India, Bollywood stars are always in the
public eye. Ask Sidharth if being in the
spotlight all the time bothers him, and the
actor says, "I started my career as a model.
Then, I became an assistant director, which
was followed by acting. Life in Bollywood is
always very active, but that doesn't mean I
miss my personal life. Whenever I feel it's
getting too much, I take a break, and spend
time with my family." He adds, "Having said
that, like everyone else, even I love to be in the
public eye."
While making a mark in B-Town is strenuous,
and involves a lot of struggle, Sidharth says
that though he had to work very hard, he
didn't face too many hardships. "My journey
was full of hard work and perseverance. There
are so many things that are yet to be
achieved. I want to do my best," he says,
adding, "There are many opportunities for
newcomers in Bollywood."
Recently, Sidharth had taken a break from his
shooting schedule to go to New Zealand for
work. "It's a beautiful country. It can make
anyone feel at home. I will definitely visit this

How times change..varun the dark horse emerged so successful

I thought Sid is the dark horse,because when SOTY released everybody was saying Sid is a gay for pay,he can't act,he is just a pretty looking boy who can't act to save his life and etc etc!But he proved himself in HTP and EV,and I know Brothers was a flop!But it doesn't mean that everything has finished,he will definitely come back with a bang!
P.S:I love Varun too,and I hope he will continue his success ride with Dilwale 😳

You keep copy/pasting the same lines on every Sid topic even when its completely out of context.So I think its time to face some facts.First of all,the comment Sid was panned by critics.,..yes he was by some reviewers like Raja Sen(who hardly likes any BW stuff)..But I love how u conveniently choose to ignore the relevant critics like Rajeev Masand and Anupama Chopra who not only praised Sid's intensity but also mentioned how he could not have done much in a half baked role😃..He was supposed to don Tom Hardy's role in original Warrior but the screentime he got was all off 15 minutes in Brothers and his whole role was butchered to make way for other storylines...Heck his dialogue which got most attention in trailer was edited out to accomodate others..Mr KRK,the No:1 critic sympathized with Sid and expressed his disappintment of Sid being limited to a body builder in Brothers and his character lacking any depth..When there is no opportunity given,how was he supposed to exhibit his histrionics?? And no he never claimed to be an actor who can rise disastrous script unlike ur darling Meryl Steep aka kachalooo😃😆 .For your kind information it was the director who got maximum flack for Brothers fate not Sid who had the shortest role in his career to play.how easy to ignore all of those and put the entire blame of Brothers flopping on Sid😆

Another hilarious statement to even imply an outsider like Sid doesnt fall into dark horse category🤣.Like nice try making him appear like an overhyped star kid like ur Alia😆.He was called dark horse from the first review of SOTY...And its the actual wording of critics and I am not making up stuff here to support my claim unlike u😃..Yes he had his flaws in acting,but people said he looked every inch of star onscreen so if he improve his acting,he will go miles...A glimpse at twitter reception of celebs to HTP compared to MTH or Highway wud say who was struggling for acceptance and who was not.Sid has worked every bit for his fame and popularity.Yes he has dharma backing but I dont see BW stars/celeb like 2Rs Sophie hyping his movies before release...Ek Villain did shock many of his naysayers as he was never expected to survive

Yes Brothers flopped(still not at the disastrous level of Shandaar🤪..seriously 4 holidays,romcom genre,2 months promotions,pink bikini to lure in male audience,hit songs still Meryl Streep Alia couldnt even help movie to collect more than 40cr🤢😭😭) ..yes it is a setback in his career,might have put a dent in his so far successful career,he is behind Varun in the race as of now..But Sid showed to the world his capabilities of being a potential action star..The people who matters already acknowledged his tremendous handwork and dedication...1 year he gave for Brothers.,..No he wasnt simply posing in trunks,but giving his blood and sweat to get the body of a MMA fighter and to train himself for all fight sequences...the reason he was offered Bang Bang sequel..He is always taking risks..First an offbeat life of niche HTP as his second movie while all his contemporaries ran behind commercial entertainers...now a dabble in hardly explored genre like Brothers...As they say u need to take riks to survive in BW..If Deepika suck to her comfort zone after an OSO and did not challenge herself with Lafangey Parindey or Karthik calling Karthik she would've never been offered Cocktail..Not everyone is an Alia Bhatt to be offered an Highway even before proving her 10% worth as a performer😆..So haters can celebrate all they want but Sidharth Malhotra is far from over 😃

Yes I am a fan of essays.I cant keep track of every Sid topic and paste my standard 4-5 lines as defense.Naa dont have the inclination,so I let it go.But when I see the same thing happening for the nth time,I come in taht mode to write long essays😳.As whats to be said,needs to be said.I am not weaving a web of lies,so if I need to write an essay to point out the prevalent hypocrisy on IF,I will.specially when I've the time 😛

I dont think Sid fans can afford to be graceful in a forum where their favouitre actor get abused all the time.Many Sid fans have left IF thanks to the constant personal attacks they earn for being a Sid fan.Alia fans have it easy always.I hardly see her getting called out for KJo's molly coddling,looks,fashion sense,immaturity,dumb behaviour,controversial family while taking a dig at Sid's orientation is in the norm 😆
