How do we know that now!...the numbers coming in are good...we will know soon enough whether the movie is accepted by the audience or not...now it is too soon to tell!..

Yeah it is -- for YJHD, someone after AGES got KJo's brand of fluffly candyfloss film right. The film flowed, wasn't disjointed. That bare minimum is necessary for any movie...even if you have no story -- then you better have engaging characters/scenes 😆 From the reviews it seems like Shaandaar is random and everyone is just doing whatever. 😆

Hahaha,don't say like that Jake,if we won't support him in his bad phase then who will support him,yaar!And haters are enough to bash him,there is no need of us!But frankly speaking,I'm also disappointed of Shahid,coz obviously my expectations were high,but now I hope UP and Rangoon will be the damage controller for Shahid 😊

Oh i know Ranbir-Deepika's verbal diarrhea went a long way in promoting the film (and i love Ayaan😆) ..What i meant was 'a film not having a story' has never stopped it from doing well so long as its fun and entertaining..So thats why i said while critics might not like it, there is still hope if the WOM is positive 😆

I think first day numbers will still be good. People have gone to see the film, whether they liked it or not is another story but should still put a healthy day one figure.

rajeev masand gave it a bad review and then says this:

Still, buried somewhere beneath all the loony characters, the overstyled songs, and way too many indulgent, often incoherent scenes are some nice touches. Like the relationship between Alia and her father Pankaj Kapoor, whose one dream is to find a man who can introduce her to the comfort of sleep. There's an easy chemistry also between Alia (refreshingly natural) and Shahid, who look good together and lift the film to some extent on the strength of their charm. Debutant Sanah Kapoor (who's Pankaj Kapoor's real-life daughter and Shahid's half-sister) brings both grace and spunk to the part of the plus-sized bride whose marriage is really a business deal between the two families.

such films require extensive promotions and a must superhit soundtrack , and this film had none of the above mentioned forte .. moreover, the last Dharma romantic comedy which had really worked was 2 states , which again had good promotions and music too..

lately Dharma has been disappointing, either they are going over budget like that in brothers or they are just making bland film with the intention of keeping Alia at work ...

shahid was never a star to open films, but its strange that even a fresh pairing and dharma banner did not help
