I am so glad Shahid has Udta punjab..or it would have given all of us post Kaminey Deja vu😒

That is of course assuming Kareena and Diljeet dont end up owning the film 😆

Shaandaar movie review: Shahid
Kapoor, Alia Bhatt's dreamy
romance & Pankaj Kapur are the
only highlights
Starring Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor, the
much awaited movie Shaandaar hit the big
screens today. Viewers have been widely
extravagant in their praise of their fresh
onscreen pairing. Also, Sasha's sister Sanah
Kapur makes her Bollywood debut with this
Vikas Bahl directorial. How Shaandaar is their
chemistry in the movie? Do they live up to the
expectations of the audience? Let's find that
out.
The movie starts with introducing Bipin Arora
(Pankaj Kapur) who has two daughters- Sanah
Kapur (Isha) and Alia (Alia Bhatt). Alia is an
adopted child and her father's favourite
among the two daughters. The Aroras are
bankrupt and so they decide to get Isha
married to the Robin Fundwani who's family is
super rich and own everything of gold. That
way the Aroras can get rid of all the debts.
Basically, the two affluent families are getting
their kids married just for a business deal.
It is a destination wedding and Jagjinder
Joginder aka JJ (Shahid Kapoor) is appointed
as Isha's wedding planner, and trust us, you
will not be able to take your eyes off Sasha.
Alia and JJ meet and bond over insomnia.
Both of them are insomniacs and since they
don't get sleep in the night, they spend time
together doing weird, crazy stuff enjoying
each other's company. Sparks fly and they
eventually fall in love.
The first half of Shaandaar is an entertainer in
every sense. Pankaj Kapur and Shahid
Kapoor's equation in the movie is totally
Shaandaar. For all those girls out there who
are conscious about being overweight, this
movie is an inspiration in true sense. Alia and
Shahid do share a crackling chemistry but the
story of Shaandaar seems to be leading to
nowhere. As we mentioned earlier, Sanah
Kapur makes her Bollywood debut with
Shaandaar but her role is completely
overshadowed by Shalia's chemistry and she
doesn't have too many dialogues.
Shaandaar has some really awesome and
hilarious sequences which will make you laugh
like crazy.Apart from Shaam Shaandaar and
Gulaabo, other songs are not very impressive.
All in all, this Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt
starrer is a light-hearted and entertaining
movie.
Vikas Bahl's previous movie Queen was widely
appreciated and made him one of the finest
directors in Bollywood. Given the previous
record, a lot was expected from the Queen
director. But Shaandaar does not meet up to
the expectations. If you are expecting
something extraordinary from Bahl's latest
venture, you will leave the cinema halls with
dashed hopes.

The wom seems totally negative. You can have all good stars but if you don't know how to tell a story properly it usually won't work.

Movie Review: Vikas Bahl's
Shaandaar' Is A No-Brainer
Entertainer That Falls Nowhere
Close To Queen'
Director: Vikas Bahl
Cast: Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Pankaj Kapur,
Sanah Kapur
Rating: 2.5**
What's the best thing about being a failed
person? Nobody has any expectations from
you. And when you deliver, something beyond
what nobody believed you were capable of,
you set a benchmark for yourself. Vikas Bahl
was one such person who reached heights
with Queen and therefore set high standards
for Shaandaar!
The Queen director tries to recreate the magic,
but fails. Where Queen won our hearts with
simplicity, the extravaganza of Shaandaar is a
little too much.
It's a satirical take on the uber rich Indian
class and their desire to show off like a proud
peacock. It mocks the society by taking a dig
on how shiny blingy golden limousines and
diamond studded guns are the definition of
style and class.
But half an hour into the movie and the entire
story revolves only around our hero, Jagjinder
Joginder (Shahid Kapoor) and his love interest
Alia Kapoor (Alia Bhatt). Their chemistry is
sizzling, and the performances are
commendable. Their chemistry is the highlight
of the movie! Alia looks adorable and Shahid
is hot. He looks charming and debonair, but
shows how 'desi' he is at heart. Pankaj Kapoor
is his usual self. Shown as a doting father, he
brilliantly showcases the emotional and
strong bond between a father and a
daughter.
The truly delightful find of the movie is Sanah
Kapoor, Shahid's real life half-sister and Alia's
reel sister. She is pretty, confident, and can
act. Her character is shown to be one of the
most soft-spoken person, but having a spine
of steel when it mattered.
All in all, Shaandaar doesn't live up to its
name but it is a nice feel good movie.
And it might fulfill the expectations people
have from a Karan Johar movie. It's a visual
delight and the some of the locations are
breathtakingly beautiful. It's a bollywood
entertainer with songs and dance
performances and some nice jokes here and
there. It's fun, but in parts.
Final Verdict: It's a fun film, sans any story.http://www.scoopwhoop.com/entertainment/movie-review-vikas-bahls-shaandaar-is-a-no-brainer-entertainer-that-falls-nowhere-close-to-queen/

The wom seems positive suddenly. I think it depends on ones perspective. Taste.

I have a feeling most journalists took their anger out regarding preview and few things.

Btw agree with this:
@Amr1ta: Disappointed @htshowbiz! Referring to #SanahKapoor as "Shaandaar's fat girl" is actually so insulting. I suggest you rephrase the headline

Overall I'm getting a feeling this will be Shahid's Mausam.

It's weird really. His performance is being appreciated ... One of the highlights ... Yet ... I think, it's time to accept Shahid ain't made for commercial movies.

But JWM was also an commercial film! And I think it's not about commercial or offbeat film,it's just about the script! If the script is good nothing can stop a film from being appreciated by the critics or the audience! And with Shaandaar, every critic is complaining that there was no story! But agree,it is going the Mausam way!I've to accept that Shaandaar is a huge disappointment, but feeling bad for Shahid!I don't know why,it always happens with him,his performance is being appreciated but the film is not!And now everything depends on the box office collection, let's see what is written in the fate of Shaandaar 😒
