Like I said, I thought Kajol was a natural beauty back in the day. Regardless of color, having good skin matters. Deepika and Bipasha have good skin and don't look drastically different without makeup.

but in that pic of hers in which she is outside siddhi vinayak temple , y is she looking so dull?? I mean i have seen many of her pics without makeup but she always looks good even without any makeup... But in that one she's completely different ... It os possible that she went for completely no makeup look for that , and thus looking so dull. , or maybe she too made her skin lighter ?? But anyways iam gonna agree that she has nice features...

While I don't think Konkona is bad looking, she's not getting roles because she is not the glamorous type. Okay, I admit, Kajol is prettier, but Konkona is a serious actress, who doesn't suit conventional Bollywood roles. She suits offbeat meaningful roles. I loved her in Amu. I'd like to see her more in meaningful roles like that. But sadly, they are not offered much.

From which angle she looks ugly? I find her better looking than bahurani. She was doing fine till she started producing kids out of wed lock and then emergency marriage, responsibility of kid, speedy divorce etc.

Why she feels that 24 years girls are more in demand? Oh koko, PC is not 24 and someone should show her where she is now? You should decide that what is important for you? If you love career then just focus on it and if you want family then don't expect career would wait for you.

If some dusky doesn't get work then abuse fair skin is funny. How katrina is responsible if konkona not getting work? Both are outsider and katrina is more outsider. If audience have accepted fair katrina then same audience have accepted dusky deepika. Audience have never demanded tons of makeup or plastic surgery or change in shape of nose. Actors making their own decisions and then bill phado audience pe. Didn't audience accept dusky kajol with uni bro? And rejected beautiful aish in most of the films. Why to go so far? Didn't audience accept her in talwar without makeup and rejected katrina in phantom.?

I agree with this is male dominated industry where male get more time and chance than female and films from male point of view but case is opposite with daily soaps. Balance is important. There ladies are more powerful. She should try her luck in daily soap but there you won't get payment in crore and shoot for 20 hours.

Its actually the disgusting producers who are to blame, they take actresses who can reveal their bodies, do item dances and be show pieces in crappy movies.

Only a few producers take risks with talented actresses and they do make money most of the time, in fact they often do better business than many utterly flop commercial movies.

Mardaani did good business, was a semi hit! Kajol is returning with Dilwale, she did get a warm welcome back after marriage and motherhood, in My Name is Khan.
So its not the audiences, its the fault of the producers and directors and often the heros themselves who want young girls opposite them.🤢

And why shd the producers only cater to the backward classes and small towns? Dont multiplex audiences matter? They also bring in crowds.
Anyway, Konkona is pretty in an unconventional way, and shes a damn good actress so she shd definitely get more roles..

exactly . audience generally isn't that interested in women oriented films, doesn't matter if the actress is 24 or 34, gori aur kali. They only flock at the theatres if the film has their favourite male superstars, and that brings those films producers' huge initials, bumper openings. A film with katrina in d lead with a not so popular actor will open badly too, no producer gonna invest 100 cr in a movie starring katrina kaif with a new actor opposite her. Why heroine didn't work? Bebo was young and beautiful for most of us. Actually a woman oriented film with good content can work but u have to wait for few weeks to celebrate. If producer is ok with that then vidyas, konkonas are better choices compare to kats and dps. They come in cheaper price with bigger promise to deliver they do have their audience in big cities too. Ppl like aditya chopra, karan jahar need to change their views. Khan too because they r producers, as actors they can work with anyone they want to. Not anybody's bussiness but if salman can launch newcomers like suraj n athiya why can't he produce a film with rani or priety in main lead?

I think Konkona is extremely pretty. She has beautiful expressive eyes. I find her better looking than Kareena who has good skin but really don't find her all that great. Konkona made an excellent point about age, and she is right on that. Unfortunately these days actresses are obsessed with looking fair (Deepika and Kajol) but I am not sure if fair skin can be held responsible for Konkona's movies. She looks quite old in Bollywood terms. Bollywood expects younger looking actresses in their early 20s for its 50+ heroes. No wonder we have Alia Bhatt paired opposite SRK.

I agree with her. Bollywood is so so obsessed with beauty that all the time an actress needs to look drop dead gorgeous- like all the time. It's one thing to look presentable and quite another to ridiculously deck oneself up from head to toe with costly brands whenever you come out in public. And here we get comments like it's part of their job- part of their job really?? I don't think so. Not every hero heroine needs to learn about fashion. They don't get paid for how they dress up when they are spotted in airports or visiting restaurants with friends.

And here also its the women who get lot of flak and men get away easily. Look at SRK- how badly he dresses up at every event he turns up. Nobody cares. But women.. they need to look picture perfect.

Actually, it doesn't only happen in Bollywood, it's a universal concept. Women are more valued by their looks and men are more valued by their success.

Bold part of ur comment is spot on and I totally agree. But I don't think here members call every dark-skinned actress ugly. Deepika is very popular here, she isn't fair, so as Chitrangada. I don't think ppl outside this forum find her as beautiful as some members here do. She is there in all beauty related topics and rightly so. Katrina and kareena are criticized a lot too. Kareena being called She- Male and all. Anushka too after her surgery was and still is at the receiving end of unflattering comments. I don't think it's about skin color atleast here. Only dark skinned girls criticized for their looks are probably Arpita ( Salman's sister), and Sonam. Sonam kapoor is criticized because apparently she made that 'if you aren't goodlooking, then u are good actor' comment which was ridiculous. And there is hardly any existence of sonam kapoor beyond her looks and fashionista image. people who love her , love her for that only. So fans of her rival actresses post such pics to discourage her fans😆, they themselves know very well that Sonam does have good features. Sonam's fans do that with other actor/ actresses too.
