there are loads of good songs now as well. Party songs and everything is a fad. Just like remixes were fad in those days.

There were lot lot of movies in early 90's which are truly musical melodies..
Hum hai rahi pyar ke..
Akele hum akele tum..
Maine pyar kiya..
Hum aapke hai kaun..
1942 a Love Story..
Chandni..
Pyar toh hona hi tha (Late 90's but still)..
Bazigar..
Dil hai ke maanta nahi..
Saajan..

Only one movie I felt had good blends of Thriller+Music was Kasoor... The songs were awesomeee !! But it was a flop due to Lisa Ray the horrible looking actress, anyways !

there are good songs now a days too but the problem is singers are artificial there are so much softwares used in a voice that dont sound something good earlier lot of singers had better vocal quality and had reyaaz to sing a song and had expression in the voice ...today singers can not match the earlier lot when there was less technology and more hardwork

Many movies starting from late 80 to late 90s have awesome music

starting from QSQT, MPK, Jo jita wohi sikandar, Saajan, Ashiqui, Dil hain ke maanta nehi, JJWS, Raju ban gaya gentlman, kabhi haan kabhi na and so on
Even Kal ho na ho, Yubraj, DCH, Kaho na payar hain, Namastey London etc had good music
But after that instruments started playing a big role than the voice. I liked today's music also. But most the singers are not quality singers. The music directors sing the song himself or use a hatke voice (after heavy correction by modern softwares). I seldom like a full album these days. One song from this movie and one song from that.
