Therz a huge golamaal in budgets of some movies.
Hero- 28 Crs? Its promotions alone wud have costed 10 plus crs.
Phantom- 70 Crs? Nothing more than 50-55 Crs. Saif did ALL promotions with his one comment.
Drishyam- 60 Crs ? hain?!... for what? late night parties? Nothing more than 40 Crs inc. Ajay's fee.
Rests looks just abt ok-ish.
The main problem in these Budget Vs BO= verdict -formula is major factor missing. How much it was sold to distributors... who then make deals with exhibitors who screen the movies where ppl go n watch then comes the calculator to count the BO numbers. A producer if already made money b4 releasing the movie from all rights sold at high prices can afford to sell a movie cheaper to distributors. Or vice versa. Producers making money is never a hit/flop formula. Most of them make their money anyways, thats why despite last 25 years,where we see 80% movies floped, 10 moderate, 10 hits to BBs. haha, no industry can survive with those kind of balance sheet Shit). 😆
The main problem is lack of transparency. Only we can say the movie that goes on n on with housefull boards foe weeks r sureshot huge success and some where only 20 ppl r watching on sat night is a flop or disaster (like BV😆). All those movies who who dont much diff. between budget vs BO, well, pick a finger. and decide if its below/above/ave/semihit/recovered costs, Hit in Gotham city and flop in timaktu etc etc.. and be happy. Its all mumbo jumbo in the end.
When it comes money and BW... its all in the air. we can chose what we want. and be 😊 Coz we will rem movie like PK, BB and BV after few years, others will be forgotten.
