From Bollywood; very few of them. Most of them are crap with zero knowledge on how to craft a story.

Vishal Bharadwaj. Such a fantastic filmmaker and story teller. Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth; all three adapted so wonderfully with Haider being the best of the lot. It is in the top 5 Hamlet adaptations I have seen. There is no bigger compliment than that. Cant wait for his next. I wish he does The Tempest and King Lear next. Those two will be incredible.

Vikram Aditya Motwane. I still maintain than Udaan is the best BW movie of this decade atleast. Magical that movie was. The moment when Rohan runs to his life; his freedom... the music, the mood, the setting, the acting... its perfection.

Lootera is good too. So no reason not to trust him yet.

Anurag Kashyup. Ugly is a masterpeice. Brilliant peice of cinema. His other work like Gulaal, Dev D, Black Friday and GOW. Damn good no?? BV although not quite upto his level; in parts is still more complex and layered than anything others in BW can dream of. Sadly those moments are too less. Still its magically shot. Another thing most directors dont know anything of.

Aamir Khan. TZP showed what he can do. With him wanting to direct again, I cant wait. It is bound to be very good.

Raju Hirani. Though I am getting tired of the same themes in each movie now; the same character traits. His greatness will be defined by what he does next and how he does it.

Vikraditya motwane is really interesting director
His both movies are awesoe
He has his unique style

Raju Hirani,same character how?

From HW, there are too many to name.

Scorsese, Affleck, Tarantino, Nolan, Fincher, Mel Gibson, Linklker, Malick, Pt Anderson, Ridley Scott, Peter Jackson, Laurant Cantet, Del Toro.

Thats it for now. Fantastic filmmakers and brilliant story tellers these guys are.

This doesn't include a lot of my favourites that aren't working now.

It's very dangerous to blindly trust directors. Most deliver in the first few films and then lose their edge. Even Yash Chopra whose every movie that I saw (granted it wasn't too many) I loved delivered his last as a JTHJ. I loved Adi C's DDLJ and Mohabbatein, didn't think much of RNBDJ.

So like someone mentioned on the first page, NONE. The day I start trusting blindly, I shall start getting disappointment.

I've really liked the films by Ashu G, KJo, Vishal B, Imtiaz Ali, Raju Hirani, Farhan A, Sooraj B, Zoya A and SLB. Of these Raju Hirani and Zoya are yet to disappoint me but I don't trust them blindly.

I also liked Kabir Khan's New York and BB but I haven't seen his other works. I hear Kabul Express is really good.

Edit: Madhur Bhandarkar as well. Pretty much liked everything except Heroine.
