What is your relationship with him like with your elder brother?

I am younger to him by six years. We have connected now. We used to share a room and I used to feel the age difference. He has a family now. The bond remains and I now know what the other person goes through.

Do you feel protective about him too?

Yes, that is something inherent. I think it comes from being a Punjabi and also from my family.

What was it like to play Akshay Kumar's sibling in Brothers?

There was nervousness as Akshay Kumar is an established star. It was nerve-wrecking to work with known actors like him and Jackie Shroff. Jackie sir is playing my father in the film but off screen he became a friend. Akshay sir and I bonded well too. Even though the film is not a comedy, Akshay sir's non-veg Punjabi jokes and pranks kept the atmosphere light.

How are you going to stand out in the movie?

Akshay sir helped me a lot and he did rehearsals with me. We have most of the work in the ring so we need to get our tuning right as one wrong tuning and we might end up injuring anybody.

Jackie Shroff said you can play his role in the Ram Lakhan remake. Comment.

It is a big compliment. I like the way both Akshay Kumar and Jackie Shroff carry their stardom and it is something to learn from. Being easy and relaxed when working is a great way of carrying your stardom; and I would use their off screen persona on camera as a reference.

You also shot with Kareena Kapoor for the Mera naam Mary item number.

I am a big fan of hers. I wish I had more work to do with her. In the song Karan wanted me to be the angry young man but I asked him Why am I not allowed to look at her?' It was tough to take your eyes off her. It was difficult not to dance with her. I wanted to break into a dance with her but I couldn't.

Did you miss having a romantic lead in Brothers?

Yes I did...Akshay sir is senior so he got Jacqueline (Fernandez) while I got Jackie (Shroff). It was unfair. Why do you think I am angry in the film (laughs)?

Brothers only your fourth film since 2012. Why are you taking it easy?

I prefer quality over quantity. And preparations for Brothers took time. Now, I have now finished Kapoor and Sons and I am getting into Nitya Mehra's's film now. I think it is catching up speed.

Your good looks are a major plus for you but did you look more into the mirror while co-starring with hunky Fawad Khan in Kapoor And Sons?

No (laughs). Fawad and I had a great working rapport. I realised that Lahore has a similar culture to Delhi. It took us three four days to break the ice. We shot in Coonoor where there is nothing else to do besides three-four restaurants so we ended up interacting a lot. I used to round everyone up for cricket.

Buzz is that you are dating Alia.

There are rumours that we both are seeing each other. Yes, as we working together so we have been seeing' each other for the last 45 days.

Would you say you are still single?

Yes, I am single and I am promoting Brothers and I am tired.
