Now Drishyam with equally good script couldn't even get a opening, Ajay, Akki, Amitabh kind of stars in them still films struggling to just get a HIT tag 😆

Nowadays Trend is changed as you have to SPREAD A HUGE GOOD WOM, if u do so, those small films manage to get HIT tag, a Big star film pushes ahead in terms of business, nothing else.

Script is the Baap, accept it bhai

Aamir has been clever, now Salman is doing the same.

Either apply this to all films & see the result, or just add up things with Script, coz Those CONTENT SCRIPT Films have also failed badly. despite having high ratings.

If we have PK / BB to back Script thing, we have Talassh / Jai Ho also which also tried 2 do something different content wise.

SHOLAY - All Time Grosser - now also considered biggest - MASALA Film

RAJA HINDUSTANI - Aamir's 1st ATBB - NO ATG - MASALA Film - REVIVED his Career.

GHAJINI - Aamir's 2nd ATBB - ATG 1st - MASALA Film - REVIVED again his Career.

Where were scripts in these films??? Would Aamir be giving ATG now if he would have landed with 3 Idiots on Single Screen?

Now Salman has pull up himself from deep down path & now become Stable, Even his Non-Script, most pathetic rated Ready made 121 Cr, Huge 2nd biggest BlockBuster of that Year, even Tripple the business of those Content films.

His scenario is different, You give anything 2 him, he isn't Bound 2 just 1 concept, Can make his film big on his own, so just coz now BB is doing more business, doesn't mean his earlier films doesn't have that charm.

1st you write off Salman coz of his 2000-2009 streak off films, you write him off coz of his cases, if he comes with Dabangg & Start giving BlockBuster, you again Write him off as he doesn't do Good films, you keep on writing off him in every film, now the same salman who chooses those scripts & Selects BB & Do film, now thr is Change Salman 😆

Make a TALAASH - ALL TIME GROSSER, i believe CONTENT is KING, make a SWADES - BlockBuster, will bow down to CONTENT... don't be bias 2 scenario when Audience needs only 1 thing - Entertainment.

There was a time when films like Ardh Satya, Saraansh, Daddy couldn't even do good business plus went unnoticed when released on big screens. This was that content driven cinema. At that time, Single Screens were thr. Even films like Swades, Dil Se, Phir Milenge, failed badly.

With Multiplex coming into business, now that Content Cinema supported by a strong Critics circle with major Social media influence, now has started to boom the business of those content films.

Like in Gurgaon, a huge chain of multiplexes have this specific set of audience who will watch a Shamitabh kind of film compare to any popular cinema like Kick or Rowdy Rathore. Now this segment of audience is increasing every year which is helping those small films.

Isn't it a good thing? If we put the box-office aside, these small movies which have little to no hardcore commercial aspects are not suffering losses or vanishing into thin air. They are slowly gaining appreciation and are making a space for themselves. Some of them, despite being average grossers are really etched in audiences mind forever as well. This way, the movies are getting the deserved attention and also then audience is increasing. Leaves more scope for experimentation. I think it's a sweet and a pretty deserved change.

Ya it is good thing, why not, any kind of cinema flourishing is good. But Why to diss Masala genre films or audience loving it? Popular Cinema Gets trashed by these content lovers, so why not we trash these films 😆

Are Masala films absolutely khokla? NO. Even hardcore commercial films have a story to them. It's a different thing if the story itself is cliched or old-school or whatever. For example, Ghajini and Agneepath are commercial hits, but they aren't just randomly made commercial entertainers, they had it in them to indulge the audience, there was a heavy emotional aspect in both the films. Arent the strong emotional aspects or comedy a part of story? 😕 Even Kick had that Robin-hood-ish angle to it. Many comedies are dialogue driven and there's shit load of writing that goes into it.

There are a few commercial entertainers that are very randomly made and are mostly about swag and style yet manage to woo the audience.

I have mentioned it loads of times andn I'll continue to do so. If content has its share of crap films, Masala has its share of crap films as well. It's pretty one dimensional to box films. Crap films are just crap, they don't have it in them to indulge the audience and make them feel the emotional or comic aspect of the films.

The issue is not with masala films or content driven films..I don even get why a distinction is made..So long as a film is entertaining, i don care which genre it belongs to..The problem is ppl take the genre for granted & assume adding 4 mass songs, 5 action scenes, a lame love track & a random rivalry makes for an entertaining masala film..Thats not enough..You need a decent script & good acting even to make commercial films work..So yeah, no one is dissing the genre..I think its good if stars realize that content matters to an extent & they can make ten times more money if its a well made film instead of just relying on their star power cos that way we'l get better masala films too 😆
P.S. I personally love masala films ( even cliched ones) and i also think better masala films are made down South..Atleast the ratio of masala films i have liked down South is much much greater than the Bollywood masala films i have liked so far 😆
