Though it doesn't reveal much about the plot, we know what to expect from KING KHAN!
Raees is the kind of movie a true Shah Rukh Khan fan will look forward to - the ones who loved in Chak De India, Swades, Paheli etc. The ones who loves it when SRK doesn't play SRK on screen! And we are about to witness it in 2016 - at least that's what the 1-minute teaser promised!
Raees is a joint production of Excel Entertainment and Red Chillies Entertainment. Along with Shah Rukh Khan, the movie stars Pakistani actress Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Though the movie is to only release next year, the makers have released the teaser today as is the norm of many Hollywood films!
So without wasting much time, let's get into discussing five things we LOVED about the teaser:
1. SRK's baritone sets the plot and his character in the first few seconds without revealing himself...
We know SRK plays a Gujarati bootlegger and a liquor dealer in the film, and the teaser sets that in place in the first few seconds itself, as we see the smuggling and selling of (presumably spurious) liquor bottles. We hear SRK's voice narrating how his mother has told him business can never be small; it's a religion. And like a true Gujarati, he says he agrees with her!
2. King Khan's total whistle-worthy entry
What's the point of watching a Khan trailer without having a ceeti-maaru entry? Raees doesn't disappoint in that matter at all, as King Khan makes his first appearance in the teaser through a lot of white smoke carrying a baton or something, as people around him fight each other! With a thumping BG score to herald his arrival, he is a sight to behold!
3. His new look
A lot has been said about his bearded look in the film. True, he has sported a beard before in Don 2 and Happy New Year. But he totally rocks the bearded look and those kohl-lined eyes. which gives him that aura of a man not to be messed with and to be respected. Especially, in that scene where he is carried around by his followers!
4. The amazing BG score
It's apt...it's powerful...and it defines the teaser!
5. The parting shot!
The last scene of the teaser shows only a sliver of his bespectacled face. But that's enough for the scene to show us the cool arrogance and the attitude of the character!
I know it will take a few more months to get a proper trailer of the film, but we have tasted blood so we need to see more!
