Lol, you really have no clue do you? 4 states, 4 languages 10.5 average šš
4 States + 4 Language Collection = 10.5 Cr is Average per language from each state combine.
The 42 Cr Nett number is from a single Telugu version, this combined with Tamil and Hindi (5 and 3 Cr respectively) gives that 50 Cr Day 1 Nett, not the way you imagine it to be.
As far as 42 Cr goes, if you want to know, you can get area wise break up for it. And btw this 42 Cr Nett is again ONLY India Nett and doesn't have overseas numbers added to it.
As far as the authenticity goes I don't have the patience to write everything again - just go through this -http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4421121&PID=124651172&#p124651172
To add something to what I said above with something that is discussed in this thread - distribution price (DP) - so DP is what determines the final verdict of the film which is absolutely right but in Bollywood what we get is only a random single digit number x,y,z, etc, we never know how it is divided down the chain across the territories, what are the terms of agreement in individual area etc. Because we don't know these details we get verdicts like Dabangg 2 being blockbuster when before release it was required to Nett minimum in the range of Ek Tha Tiger to even be considered a hit.
