Aamir whisks Pritam away from Jagga Jasoos
The actor-producer and music composer have gone to Panchgani to brainstorm over Dangal's music

They don't call Aamir Khan Mr. Perfectionist for nothing. He is always looking into the nitty-gritty of his films.

And what's got his attention right now? His next Dangal, of course!

A few days ago, we told you that Aamir fired designer duo Rushi Sharma and Manoshi Nath (Aamir sacks Dangal costume designer, June 22). He wasn't quite pleased with the ideas that they came up with and there was also a problem with the financials.

Now, he has ditched his regular music collaborators Ram Sampath and Shantanu Moitra. And who has he roped in? Pritam!

After all, the music composer has a proven track record of delivering chartbusters (we're still humming Dilliwali Girlfriend and his Selfie song is already a rage).

So, the story goes that Aamir made a phone call to Pritam and asked him to accompany him for a quick trip to his house in Panchgani to discuss the music. But here's the catch.

Pritam is currently caught up with the music of Jagga Jasoos (he needs to come up with some 13 songs, no less!). So did that deter him? No way! Pritam, who has given music to Aamir's Dhoom 3, was more than happy to dash to Panchgani.

A highly-placed source told us, "Aamir wants the film to be iconic and he's doing everything in his capacity as an actor-producer to ensure that it turns out to be one. Over the next few days, he will be in his beautiful Panchgani house making music with Pritam."

And what exactly are the requirements? "The music needs to be modern but with strong traditional notes and distinct Haryanvi vibe. Both of them are going to work towards that with Aamir giving a prompt response to Pritam's tunes.

Everyone is moving on from JJ only Kat and Ranbir are left walk out of this filam. 😆

DANGAL comparison will be directly with sultan.. so amir rolls his sleeves i guess.

Just hope Pritam comes up with good music...D3's music was very underwhelming...

What does Aamir know about music? Am genuinely curious tbh 😆 He doesn't seem to spare any department..Right from editing to screenplay to direction to music 😆 Does he let the cinematographer and choreographer be or interferes there too? And the lighting? Position of spot boys? 😆

There so many brilliant music directors out there. Why not go for them. What about Amit Trevidi or Ram Sampath??

Dangal is not the usual movie . It needs music that blends in with the narrative and adds to the plot rather than being a distraction. Kind of like what Amit did with Udaan or Ram with Talaash.

First news about the project that I don't like at all. Is it confirmed??

Pritam over Ram Sampath and Shantunu Moitra?? Doesn't look like a good decision by Mr. Perfectionist. Copycat Pritam can only produce chartbusters, even that he is failing to do now a days. Aur requirements bhi keya hai??-modern with strong traditional notes and Haryanvi vibe??? Bhul Jao.

Aamir should have gone for Amit Trivedi instead. Wonder why he doesn't work with A R Rahman anymore.

Amit Trivedi would have been perfect. He is the best music composer in BW by a fair margin. Ram Sampath is excellent as well.

This movie needs something that stays in the back drop and shines; helping the story and the narrative. Ram, Amit and AR Rehman re the only three I can think of; who can accomplish this.
