The Tanu Weds Manu Returns actress walked out of the success party of her own film, when the Piku actress walked in

THE GOOD

Deepika Padukone had a special screening of Piku before the film's release and Kangana Ranaut was present. When Piku hosted a success bash, B-Town's who's who were in attendance, including the Tanu Weds Manu Returns (TWMR) actress. It was the two actresses' first public display of a patch-up following a series of misunderstandings

(see box).

THE BAD

Kangs and Dippy are not on talking terms yet again. And all because Deepika couldn't attend the TWMR screening (which Kangana had invited her to) as she was shooting. A let-down Kangana felt cheated that while she made it to DP's screening, the latter did not return the gesture.

THE UGLY

This patch-up lasted less than two weeks. Unpleasantness happened at the TWMR success party hosted by the film's producer Krishika Lulla (she's also producing Bajirao Mastani) at her home earlier this week. This time Kangana did not invite Dips. It was Krishika who invited her and she went as the guest of the host and to make it up to Kangana for missing the screening of the film. However, shortly after she walked in, the TWMR actress left the party without saying so much as a hello. It was clear to everyone that her exit was timed with Deepika's entry. This is probably the shortest truce in the history of the world.

The problem

It all began when Deepika dedicated one of the Best Actress awards she won (for Happy New Year) to Kangana. Kangana was irked because she had made it clear before the award season that she wasn't going to accept any awards. She felt Deepika's gesture was cheeky and she rejected the award and sneered that if DP had liked her performance so much, she should have called her to compliment her like the rest of the industry, rather than make a public display. She felt that Deepika's gesture was simply an act of magnanimity. Shortly afterwards Deepika offered an olive branch which was accepted by the Queen'. However, the truce lasted only till Dippy's no-show at the TWMR screening. Kangana had said in an interview to this paper, "I did extend an invite to Deepika, but I never got a response. I have always been supportive of my contemporaries and will continue to be... It is hurtful when you don't get the kind of support." Sources close to Deepika maintain that she could not attend as she was shooting that day and she sent Kangs a text message explaining that.
