@roger : I agree. We shouldn't take any initiative by these celebs seriously, unless there is an NGO or a 'real' organization involved in all this. Sometimes we can't take them seriously even after all the NGOs..example the great Bhai.
Honestly speaking, I loved the video when I first watched it, slowly it toned down and even after all the backlash, I didn't find anything terrible about it. My initial thoughts were that any organization associated with this Vogue empower initiative would benefit upto a certain level, if there is a celeb face attached to it. I can say this from a personal experience of mine.
But at the end, it ended up being a mess with the massive trolling. And after all the trolling the face of the video itself is giving such kindergarten-ish statements. If I had any respect for this lady for openly speaking about depression, today that has turned zilch. She comes across as PR ki dukaan to me, who couldnt care less about the actual cause. What a shame.

True..When a celeb's name gets attached to a social cause, it defo gets more publicity which in turn translates to greater reach..But then again, when the celeb in question lacks credibility, am not sure if it'l have the desired impact..This is not about Deepika..Like i mentioned the other day, when you are trying to sell a cause, the person's credibility matters a lot..If tomorrow, Malala makes a video on woman empowerment, the credibility & reach will sky rocket simply because well its Malala..She demands that attention..But most these celebs here only end up sounding like hypocrites & subsequently when they chicken out this way, it only makes things worse😆

True. But at a smaller level, even somebody like Ishant Sharma ( a couple of years ago wala may be 😆) could help an organization, working for a cause in his own way, if he hasn't made a mockery of 'stands' in the past. So sometimes even a small and recognizable face is enough at a smaller scale. But with certain spineless celebs, you just can't expect anything. It's better to not let some Image-obsessed celebrities ruin the cause. 😆
