Arjun Kapoor may not have hit the bulls eye with his first release of the year, action film Tevar' but his romantic films before that, namely Finding Fanny' (2014) and 2 States' (2014) performed very well at the box office. Now, it is being reported that Kapoor is all set to star in a romantic comedy, directed by Paa' (2009) and Cheeni Kum' (2007) fame, R. Balki.
Mumbai Mirror has learned that Kapoor and Balki met, and everything fell into place straight after. After being apart of strong romantic stories, Kapoor is quite excited to be starring in a romantic comedy. A source told the paper, "The film will roll this year for sure. Balki who introduced a new face, Akshara Haasan, in Shamitabh', is looking for a more established actress for this film so her dates will have to match. Arjun is really kicked about the project because all his love stories so far have been intense. This one is a light-hearted love story with lots of laughs and he can't wait to get started."
Balki's last direction was 2015's Shamitabh' (2015) starring Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush. It failed to create waves at the box office, but the director is known for his creativity and Kapoor, for his romantic avatars. It should be an successful combination.
