Before Roy, Ranbir Kapoor had no releases for a year and a half. While he wasn't the film's lead, the film was sold using his star power. When it bombed at the box-office nevertheless, the actor went from being the most commercially viable actors of his generation to one that's having quite an unpredictable run. All his films are either getting delayed or the releases are postponed. The same, we hear, is happening with Jagga Jasoos, his film with Anurag Basu.
Originally scheduled for an August 28 release this year, a clash with Phantom gave it its first push, with November 27 as the new date. As of now, though, the film might get pushed ahead indefinitely as "Ranbir is unhappy with a few parts of the film and might ask Basu to reshoot. He does not want to go wrong with this film," shares a source.
In any case, RK wants Jagga Jasoos to release in November itself. "He wants the changes made, but doesn't want to push the film any further. Only after shooting can the special effects team do their work, and it's time-consuming. Will it pan out that way is what everyone is waiting for", wonders the source. That's not it, either. "Ranbir has to make time to promote Bombay Velvet. He will not go all out with promotions, but he will do his bit. That would also take up a lot of his time. Hence the rush," one of Ranbir's industry friends insisted.

Bombay Velvet
After several delays and controversies, BV was preponed to avoid a clash with PK at Christmas last year. But that didn't work. Anurag had shown the film to some of his closest friends and they didn't seem to "get it" and "Ranbir himself was so disturbed he asked Kashyap to reshoot several scenes from the film," a source close to the director confirmed. But the entire team stayed mum on the subject. BV finally releases in May this year. This film has to work for RK, considering how much is at stake!
Tamasha
The makers of this film did not hesitate to accept the reason for backing out of the Christmas weekend -- SRK and Rohit releasing Dilwale in December. Tamasha and Bajirao Mastani soon went scurrying for a later date. "Imtiaz is pretty convinced that he does not want a clash with a superstar. He is confident about his film, but he is eyeing for a solo release early next year", revealed a source close to the filmmaker. Wonder if RK shares the sentiment.
Ayan Mukerji's superhero flick
This will be their third after Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. And it's a superhero flick with Alia Bhatt also featuring. And yet, it might have to shift dates to avoid a confrontation with Aamir Khan's Dangal on Christmas in 2016. Going up against Aamir at the box-office won't be the smartest thing to do.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
Says a source from Dharma Productions, "Karan (Johar) is in no mood to shift his film's release dates. He has already announced that ADHM will hit theatres on June 3 next year and will stick to his original plan". That means AB Jr's Housefull 3 will clash with biwi Ash's ADHM. And while Abhishek and KJo are good friends, our khabru insists, "The only way to avoid the clash would be for H3 to move to another date, because Karan won't." Only time will tell us, who blinks first.
