Ok, its not BW related, its just a simple topic.
I think i had my first one at age of 21 and by 30, i had all 4. I only had pain when they were coming out for few days.. and dealt with paracetamol ... and i was like haha I m so lucky.

Coz i have seen many ppl had to for that painful (in the mouth and in the wallet) exp. when that wisdom teeth makes u realise there is no pain as worse than one in ur mouth.. U cant even freaking eat properly.

One of my wisdom tooth has lost its temper, hez in fight with his neighbours.. and is called for "Dharna". I tried to calm him down and wait for few days so that everybody in mouth is happy. But nope, Its either remove all ur teeth or remove me. Such an emotional blackmail.

So, going to the dentist 2moro and some painful diagnosis. X-rays too (the most hideous x-rays r of our dentures)... and ready lose some $ 500- 1000 for all the pain.

After all that interesting readings, I just wanted to know how does ur country healthcare system handle dental problems. its one of the most imp parts of our body, where we get to eat.

And yet, NZ citizens covered for all (or most... even drug and alcohol addicts rehabs) health problems but not when its to do with dentistry.

So, just be careful u young ppl, treat ur wisdom teeth with care. 😛😃

Is it really painful?
Have you tried some saline rinses? Salt with some warm water? Brushing the area with a tuft end brush?

I don't suggest extractions if it's not extremely painful, and after some home remedies, the pain calms down.

My top 2 are currently erupting, 1 started at 20, and 1 at 21. They aren't fully erupted. I remember when they newly started, I felt some discomfort, but I just started doing some rinses, trying to keep the area clean because often time food gets stuck under the tissue, and you go to bed. and that's when the bacteria says "party chalegi til 6 in the morning"

Dentists usually recommend you to get all wisdom teeth extracted because c'mon it's gold for them. They scare you by saying "your front teeth may rotate due to lack of space etc, you will lose your smile...bla bla bla"

Don't listen to them, check your pocket first.

If you think they aren't bothering you, then live with them for the rest of your life. Maintain your wisdom. Try natural remedies before leaning towards pharmaceutical options.

Dental Care is very expensive. Anywhere you go 🤢 After becoming one, I realized it's a profession of scamming people. Actually, if you get dental care in ghetto areas of Pakistan and India, then you may get your tooth extracted for 500 rupees. Roughly 6 dollars. My mom got it done 🤣 I wouldn't. Some people are just so brave to let people play with their mouth.

Good luck :)

Had mine pulled out when I was 5, coz my teeth weren't growing the right way. They've regrown, and my dentist said they look fine for now. Doubt i'll have to have it pulled out again.

I have about $400 cover a year (under Teachers Family Health Fund) until i turn 25, which takes care of two dental checks and any fillings i need. After a few years I'll have to pay out of my pocket. :/

I know right! Dental health checks should be part of medicare, or atleast we should get it subsidised.

I got mine removed 3 years ago, I was 23 then. It was covered from work so I didn't pay anything. I was under anesthesia for the thing and my family tells me funny stories of what I did after.

you don't get your wisdom teeth until you are in you late teens. you get your first molars when you are 5-6 years old.
-@ TM, lower wisdom teeth should be taken out if they are coming side ways (horizontally) as they can damage your second molars.
PS i am a hygienist
