I can understand people taking offense to rape jokes, and I remember comedian Jim Davidson was scrutinised heavily when he indulged in it. Some things should have boundaries like involving minors in jokes, Frankie Boyle another british comedian received tonnes of flak when his jokes were centered around a disabled child (son of reality star Jordan). But rape and ebola weren't even the subject of jokes here, don't know why that is so hard to decipher..
By all means what the comedians said will be up for scrutiny but blaming the participants like Aamir is doing here makes no sense, they wouldn't know what jokes would come up (having said that, the jokes IMO were acceptable in the setting of a roast, so there is no issue of holding them accountable for being bystanders).

Its funny how this whole thing is being blown out of proportion. Firstly the whole show was dull, most of the jokes were plain boring. The thing with humour of this kind is that is like marmite. Some people would love it and some would hate it. So I don't see a reason for either of the parties to judge the other for their opinion.

I just love the fact that he acknowledges himself as some sort of oracle who has the right to police 2 fully grown men, who gave their consent to do something in the world of entertainment.
