Aamir Khan: I scolded Karan Johar and Arjun Kapoor for the AIB Roast

The actor believes it was totally unacceptable on their part to put up such an abusive show...

Earlier we reported on how Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan disapproved of Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor's "offensive" AIB Roast. The latest to back them with this discontent is none other than, Aamir Khan. Yes! During a recent event, the Satyamev Jayate host chose to slam the whole AIB episode even further by bracketing it under terms like violence, shame, disrespect and abuse. Whoa!

The PK actor admitted that he hasn't watched the video yet but knowing what the concept is, he feels Karan and Arjun shouldn't have taken up such a thing. Justifying his say, Aamir said, "Karan and Arjun are both my friends and I scolded them both saying that I didn't find it funny. If you think 25 abuses can impress me, then you're wrong. I'm not 14 any more; abusive language doesn't excite me. If you can make me laugh without hurting anyone, that I'll appreciate. I don't think jokes about the colour of skin or one's sexuality are funny at all." That's not all.

Mr. Perfectionist further elaborated on how the show was more violent than funny. " I felt it was a very violent event. Violence is not only physical but also emotional and verbal. When you're insulting someone, you're perpetuating violence onto someone. And you're also showing this off to the world like look! How violent I am!", said the 49-year old actor.

Violent? Really aamir? Fair enough u didn't like the comedy but using the word 'violent' is a complete over exaggeration.
And this is coming from the producer of Delhi belly who said 'if u don't like abuses then don't watch Delhi belly' shudnt the same apply for the AIB roast?

He produced DELHI belly was one of the producers.

He had no qualms doing the PK poster. Buck naked at 49..talking about Moral policing.

So according to him abusive language is for 14 years old audience 😲- silly AIB people put up a disclaimer for 18+ only 😔

The same should apply to him then coz he did poke fun at people's religion. So for him it's ok to poke fun at religions that's also sensitive to people but not someone's sexuality esp when that someone was also participating? #hypocrite

What do you expect of someone who does the TV show Satyamev Jayate to say about this topic. And Aamir why do you comment on something when you didnt watch it. Or did he watch it? I am confused😕 Why did he even still watch it if its not the kind of jokes he liked as Kjo and Arjun told him about it.

Nothing wrong with this at all. He is just expressing his opinions.

Went overboard here. Its wasn't violent, that's too extreme a word.
You don't like something don't watch it. And funnily enough according to the article, he didn't.

Overall, I do agree with him. It wasn't comedy in any sense whatsoever. I have seen roasts and this by far is the most pathetic and cringe-worthy of them all. It was watching overgrown teens who just experienced puberty( I might be insulting teenagers here). The jokes were lame and nonsensical( even for roasts). It was clear that they had no idea what they were doing and it all all just fell apart. Not funny even in the slightest.
First learn to pull something like that off, and then by all means do it.
