A Lifetime Snub!

Looks like Bollywood's awards nights are fast becoming platforms for subtle and rather obvious snubs for some in the film fraternity.

During the most recent awards night, when an elegant leading lady from yesteryear was honored with a Lifetime Achievement award, she was presented the trophy by another female superstar from Bollywood. The presenter is also married to an evergreen star & a still towering figure in Indian cinema.

On the occasion though, the presenter took the opportunity to state to the attendant youngsters that perhaps most of them were not familiar with the performances of this lifetime achievement winner, taking a dig at their overall lack of film knowledge. Whats more she didn't spare the organizers either. Taking the mike she mentioned that the organizers too showed limited knowledge of films for the video snippet honoring the prestigious winner, had a major film of hers missing from it!

Taking the cue, the winner, an otherwise soft spoken lady, also cracked a smart one saying "While ours was an era of natural acting, today's youngsters are a lot closer to their nature!" Is that a dig at their open attitude to relationships? We are still trying to figure that one out!

While none of these mutual digs will make it to the final happy edit of the awards night on TV, we still can't help wondering what the hapless Gen Y brigade of Bollywood has done in the first place to receive such barbs!
