What happened to the news of one of the regional actor starring in this movie opposite Kareena?
Diljit Dosanjh? Have not heard anything since.
I think the film has an ensemble cast. This is what Abhishek Chaubey said in July before Alia and Kareena were confirmed:
"Apart from the heroine, other important characters are also yet to be cast. It's almost like an ensemble."

They are probably in the process of casting for those roles atm. We are going to get all sorts of rumours before any confirmation.
Taking into consideration the storyline and being set in Punjab, I think having Diljit Dosanjh in the project would be a good way to draw in Punjabi audiences.
