We have laughed about it. I was at Mimi (her nickname for Priyanka) didi's house a few days back, and I was like, You prefer Barbie (Mannara's name before she changed it) over me,' and she quipped, Yes, I have moved on.' I don't even need to say that there's no issue. I know my relationship with her. She also told me, Now, you can do things on your own, but we have to be there for Barbie since she is still new.'
Do you feel any pressure on seeing your contemporaries do well?
Yes, of course. As for Alia (Bhatt) and Shraddha (Kapoor), their films have done exceedingly well last year, while mine didn't. Every actor can't have a perfect year. Mimi didi also tells me that even she went through a phase when her films didn't work for years.
Reportedly, you have broken up with Maneesh Sharma (director)?
I am tired of saying that we are not in a relationship. The reason the rumours haven't died down is because I haven't been linked with anyone else. Maneesh is always like, Why do I get involved in your life?'
How come you are still single?
I am going to find a boyfriend in 2015, and I have been saying it for the past two years. I haven't gotten attracted to anybody. Whenever it happens, it should be with the right person. My last relationship was in 2011. I haven't been in a relationship since I became an actor.
We've heard that you are looking for a new house too.
I am looking for a house because I can afford it, which I couldn't earlier. I am close to finalising a place in Bandra, and will announce it shortly. I'm excited about it, since it has been a dream.
RELATIONSHIPS ARE FICKLE IN THE FILM INDUSTRY'

After making a successful acting debut in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011), Parineeti Chopra delivered a hit every year for the next two years, with Ishaqzaade (2012) and Shuddh Desi Romance (2013). However, 2014, in comparison, wasn't as great. Last year, she starred in the average grossers, Daawat-e-Ishq and Kill Dil. But the actor isn't losing sleep. She says she's learnt her lesson, and is now looking forward to finding the next, right script for herself.
Last year wasn't as great for you as the ones before. How did you deal with it?
Everything went right in my first two years, and 2014, too, started on a high note. Then Daawat-e-Ishq flopped and I was shocked. I didn't even know how it (having a flop) felt like. But now, I understand what went wrong. So, the next time a script comes to me, I will give it more thought. Be it films, brands or money, 2014 has been full of ups and downs for me. But my personal experiences last year have made me more mature and calm; I have grown a lot.
Have you become more careful about selecting films now?
Yes, I want to think hard about doing a film now. I am fine if I don't do one for some time, but whenever I sign one, it should be a good project. I also want to work on myself and look better. I was so busy last year that I couldn't take care of myself at all, but I will do that now.
You've been in Bollywood for three years. Do you still feel like a newcomer, or an experienced customer?
In my head, on one hand, I believe I have always been doing it (acting); so, I don't feel new. On the other hand, when I don't understand so many things that happen every day, I tell myself, It's because I am just three years old in the industry.' I have
not become a pro.
What have you learnt and unlearnt in these three years?
My biggest learning has been that relationships in the film industry are fickle. Industry people are nice, but there's so much pressure from audiences that everybody tends to become a bit insecure. Due to that, relationships and people change quickly. Everyone is there for you when you are at the top, but when you are a no one, you become a no one for them too (sic). I used to be very conscious of people around; that's what I have unlearnt.
