They didn't show his death, so he didn't didn't die per se.
They just showed all the girls beating him up till he was unconscious. It was left open ended (that's how I interpreted it).
I think it was mentioned at the end that he died on the way to the hospital or something.It would be interesting if he lived though for another Shivani vs. Karan showdown.
