I would be blessed if my career shapes up like Aishwarya Rai's, says Deepika
Deepika Padukone turned 29 on January 5. Initially in her career, the critics labelled her as wooden', but she did not get disappointed with this, instead she bounced back. The actress was tagged as the Golden Girl' of B'Town after she gave five back-to-back hits - "Cocktail", "Race 2", "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", "Chennai Express" and "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela". She even broke the myth that models can't become good actors.
Talking about that, in an interview she said, "Well, there is still a myth that exists in the country about models not being good actors. It is high time that we realise it is all a fallacy. Of all the names you mentioned, I definitely look up to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as a strong role model and the fact that she had always been my inspiration is not hidden. I have loved her from the childhood days, watching and admiring her advertisements, her Miss India triumph and everything else. If by God's grace, my career shapes up even 1% of what Aish did with her work, I would be blessed."
"Plus, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Juhi chawla has proven the myth wrong time and again," the "Break Ke Baad" actress added.
In 2014, Deepika was seen in movies like "Finding Fanny" and "Happy New Year". Her 2015 releases include "Piku", "Tamasha" and "Bajirao Mastani".
We wish Deepika a very Happy Birthday and hope she gets to wear the Golden Girl' crown over and over again.
