Kajol's a talented actress and one of the few that left movies right at the peak of her career and she was pretty young back then, she could've stayed in the limelight like Rani, Kareena and married in mid 30s but she decided against it.

However, if she hadn't, how do you think her career would've shaped up? let's not forget she had offers like 3 idiots, kabhi alvidaa na kehna, veer zaara etc. so there was demand.

She was only 24-25 when she got married and slowed down... which is really early by BW standards. She could have easily stayed on top for another few years and then gown married if she wanted to. But I think she made the right decision. Leaving early, never giving the audience the chance to get bored of her and stop watching her films is a big part of why she's still a popular name. Everyone else did films until audience said please stop, then they got married.

Yes but she is an iconic actress. Audience still want to see her. Even if she makes a come back right now then she can have a successful second inning.

She would have had the same fate as Rani...be at the top for a couple of years and then ...down from there...every actress has the same fate in BW...limited shelf life...and Kajol was nothing extraordinary...she is not a stunner like Aish...or an amazing actor like Rani or Priyanka or an amazing dancer/hot like Kat...so all in all she is pretty average...

The only thing that put her apart from the rest was her amazing chemistry with Shahrukh...and how long would that have worked is debatable...

But like someone said that since she disappeared from the BW scene so early...she still has that mysterious aura around her...people never really got bored of her and most would love to see her back in a movie with Shahrukh..

I think ito career wise she would had much more movies to back up her fantastic talent she would have been considered far more versatile than she is considerd now. But whether srk fans admit it or not she is an amazing actress they both started of together and they both created hits together it was not like fans back than went to watch ddlj coz of srk only they went for both of them. Kajol success defines logic coz she was never the best dressed onscreen(offscreen), she was never really thin, she had unibrows. But her natural talent set her apart from the others and I think that whether she had done more more movies or not she would have have been loved as much as she is now.

SRK phanka who admits that Kajol is one of the best actress out there...and that she's equally creditable for all movies with SRK reporting...😆😆

I think she would have stopped being relevant had it not been for the Karan Johar/Shahrukh Khan association.

She did marry early at 25 but she also started working really early, at 17. So had she continued for longer, she may have had seen a bit more of success but she eventually would have faded into oblivion like Urmila. She wasn't even reinventing herself as an actor much, audiences would definitely have got bored of her.

It's a good thing she gave it a break, which gave the audience a chance to miss her. Unlike other actresses like Rani, Preity, Raveena, Manisha, who kept rubbing themselves in the audiences faces long after they stopped being relevant, which further repulsed the audience. Glad Kajol didn't do that.
