Bollywood's noted actorsAjay Devgan and Kajol , who are real-life husband and wife, will most likely be seen playing Lord Ram and his consort Sita in an upcoming flick.

Rajkumar Santoshi is making a film on the famous epic Ramayana. While the filmmaker has already signed his favourite actor Ajay Devgan to play the role of Lord Ram, reports now have it that Kajol has been roped in to play Sita

If this is true, the film will mark the coming together of Ajay and Kajol for the first time on the big screen since their daughter Nysa was born.

The film is presently in the scripting stages and, in Santoshi's words, "it will be the biggest and most spectacular version of the epic."

The movie has a whopping budget of Rs 90 crore.

Santoshi has made it mandatory that the actors playing the main roles in the film will have to follow a certain code of conduct till the movie is fully shot and is ready for release. Because the roles in the film are of the characters of great reverence, the actors would have to be cautious about their public conduct. The image of the actors, in Santoshi's opinion, will have an impact on public perception.

It was almost a forgone conclusion that Devgan would play Lord Ram in the film. He is Santoshi's "favourite actor" and has previously worked with him in films like Khakee , The Legend of Bhagat Singh and Lajja .

But what is most exciting is the prospect of seeing Ajay and Kajol together in a film after 'Raju Chacha' six years ago. Before that the two worked together in a number of films : 'Dil Kya Kare' (1999), 'Pyar To Hona Hi Tha' (1998), 'Ishq' (1997), 'Gunda Raj' (1995) and 'Hulchul' (1995).

i fink kajol is great but i think she would make a better draupadi for mahabharat. ajay-- 😕 well i dont know he doesnt fit- but best of luck to em both
