Whether people may find SRK hot or not, a significant amount like looking at SRK on screen. You cannot have a 20+ career without that.

As for JTHJ, what can I say without sounding like a broken record ? This was my first ever glimpse of anything JTHJ

The poetry, ladakh, SRK and the bike. I loved it then and love it now. Then came the actual film...

There are a lot of cons to the film. The kiss 🤢, lack of chemistry between both girls and SRK, Kat's absolutely frozen face when she was so animated in ETT, Anushka's OTT to where I wanted to throttle her, the length, lack of direction

The pros were the songs and cinematography. It is such a pretty film if you can bear to sit through and watch it in parts as I have. Both Ladakh and London.

Adi is a good writer. DDLJ is in a theater for 20 years. It is no masterpiece and drips cheese. But it is relevant even today and watched fondly by another generation because it had solid acting from both leads and supporting. You cannot have a love story like JTHJ without the acting. And even SRK alone cannot bring the chemistry. It is not plug and play.

For a scene or a movie to work, chemistry is two people who are synchronous with each other and play off each other. Not just in words and not just romance. That is why the scene where Raj chooses a sari for the aunt works without words in DDLJ. JTHJ lacked that in every frame.

Shockingly, Anushka had zero chemistry with SRK when RNBDJ with both of them and written by Adi worked.

I loves the music. Liked anushka. Had no problem with SRK's stubble. Hated rest. From those phuski bomb to annoying meera.

I was thinking, had Anushka been replaced by Preity Zinta and had Katrina been replaced by Madhuri Dixit, and had the kasam angle been eliminated/substituted with another twist, then the movie would have worked. Although it's another matter of concern that I'm still thinking about this movie 😆 I am, because SRK truly made an effort, unlike his recent roles. 😆
