Munnabhai goes to the Oscars on his own

In a recent development, director Vidhu Vinod Chopra has decided to send his film Lage Raho Munnabhai as a separate entry in the Best Picture category to the Oscars. The director says, "An astounding number of fan-mails that we have received worldwide have inspired us to go ahead with sending the film across to the Academy as an independent entry. Many people feel that Lage Raho Munnabhai should be one of the films at the Oscars. I loved RDB and I am absolutely okay with the fact that it will represent India in the foreign film category."

Can individual entries go to the Oscars at will? Chopra says, "Any film that is released in USA can do so."

very cheap start, Muna Bhai may be very very good for indian but its not for internationaly.
I think its just ego issue otherwise in america ghandi giri will not work so please keep in mind you going to present film in oscar so you should have film acceptable for international market.

Well you never know...Sometime, we do get a big surprise at the Oscars.
