TFS. This was interesting.

YRF distribute their films themselves, right? What about Dharma?

Yes, YRF distribute their own movies. That's one of the reasons their movies rarely flop.. they can at least recover their money.

Dharma don't distribute alone. Almost always collaborate with other distributors: UTV, Anil Thadani and other friends.

Edit: This year, only HTP was distributed by Dharma alone, rest where distributed by others.

Their final verdicts I am not sure how they judge them🤔. Ra1, JH, BB...all of them had distributors in certain circuits losing money. But maybe they have some logic?
When it comes to BO figures distributors under-report. So if the difference in lifetime is upto 15cr-20cr for big films and 5cr-10cr for smaller films I would rather believe the producer than distributor.
But the biggest issue with BOI is they are highly biased against what they see as non-commercial cinema. They give poor verdicts and figures for such films and are always dismissive of them whether its Queen or Mardani and now Haider.

I think 100 crore is BOI's yardstick. If a movie makes 100 cr. +/-, they give that movie a semihit to hit tag.

Look, they've given Bang Bang a semihit tag. 😆

The third week has seen further drop and it will be a 140 crore nett finish on a best case scenario. SEMI HIT

Queen's verdict was apt considering the share was only 27 cr. Multiplexes hit the jackpot more than producers due to sharing method.

And yes, its hard to get a clean hit tag from BOI if the collection is under 60 crs for a film with 25 cr+ budget.

So, most of the time movie ( especially a movie with big stars) is hit for producers are they make extra money from satellite and musical right too. However, same cant be said for distributors.

See? That article is really informative yaar. Even deevider might read it 50 years later.😭
To sum up I want to be producer too!! We know that they are burderning the flop/hit consequences to distributor..No wonder our famous distributors are likely going bald..the rates of distributors of losing hairs doubled the rates of our lovely well groomed celebrity producers.😆
