Making a half baked film with lot of loop holes n talking like he has made a TITANIC... His frustration is indicating that movie has underperformed n all these collections shown are fake...

It depends on how you execute the film.

Happy feel good films like Munna Bhai MBBS have got critical acclaim.

Mindless flicks like Dabangg have been appreciated for their masala value.

Farhan Akhtar received accolades for his action packed Don reboot.

The first Dhoom movie was a huge hit with bike chase scenes and stunts but Dhoom 3 was trashed.

Bang Bang seems to be a hollow film. Like Dhoom 3, it focuses on the action and ignores other elements. Barring a small audience that likes such flicks most people won't enjoy it.

Stop being arrogant and learn to infuse soul in a film.

Bang Bang is not SLAPSTICK like Rohit Shetty movies are...it's silly in bits, sure...but not slapstick...but the levels to which ppl are ripping it apart simply cuz it has been directed by the guy who produced turkeys like Anjaana Anjaani is also not fair. Sid Anand alone isn't the one carrying the banner for masala movies...plenty of other directors who try and FAIL to make a halfway dhang ki movie.

As for what he said regarding BB being a happy film...have you seen the movie by any chance? It's a giddy, goofy, fun ride...harmless fluff in many ways...that is what he was pointing at...that the critics have all ripped it apart like it needed to be some Michelangelo work of art...why take the movie seriously when it never CLAIMED to take itself seriously to begin with? At the same time it wasn't totally vapid and brainless either...it was indeed just simple HAPPY fun...

I don't think the critics always get it right...and yes many times they will praise a movie simply to jump on the bandwagon of what is politically correct in labeling a 'masterpiece'...so the argument holds true both ways...Haider isn't great simply cuz it's a small/medium budged critically acclaimed film and Bang Bang isn't terrible simply cuz it's a big budget masala movie.

But i said nothing against masala films 😆 I admitted it myself that critics are not always right ..The issue is not about whether BB is an entertaining film..The only problem many had here is that Sid Anand is generalizing here by claiming that critics only like morose films..Which is a gross generalization..A lot of not so morose films have been appreciated by the critics..That is the only issue i had 😆 I don know why this is being made into a niche v. masala film debate..

The movie doesn't take itself seriously...Sid has simply made a stylized rom-com/action thriller out of it...doesn't require some mahaan depth to it...and Hrithik works the style bang on...so the complaints are really baseless.

Again let me reiterate that I have not watched the film yet so my grouse with Sidharth is on the basis of what I've read from members reviews that the film wasn't well made and didn't have an engaging narrative the critics said film is only watchable cos of HR ... Also I have never really enjoyed any Sid Anand film except BAE to an extent cos of RK ...

He sounds really bitter. Fox must be after his life with a danda for having squandered a huge budget and two superstars.

IMO, Sid Anand is simply the bakra here. No one can point fingers at the Studio or HR or Kat. This guy is obviously the best bet to lay all the blame on.

LOL and I honestly don't know why this is being made so personal either by labeling him everything from a new Sajid Khan to a bitter/delusional soul for that one comment...so if generalizations can be made towards him based on his past work and what this movie is being purported to be, how is he not allowed his share of "generalizations"? Why trash someone for one thing when a lot of people in this forum practice that very thing?😆

Because he is sounding bitter here when he says critics only like morose films 😆 Generalizing or stereotyping is always wrong..Whether its done by members on this forum or by Sid Anand 😆

You and most people in here haven't watched the film...yet are SO quick to generalize...and therein lies the irony😆😆

It's not a great film...but at the same time it's unfair to the film to trash it simply for Sid Anand or the budget or whatever...watch the film and then take a call rather than going around blindly hating it, that's all I'm saying.

Hrithik no doubt is the soul of the movie on which it largely runs cuz he infuses conviction into his role...but I didn't find anything so terrible about the narrative either...

The only Sid Anand film I truly hated was Anjaana Anjaani...Ta ra rum pum did have some nice bits to it and as for BAH...the Bips storyline was well done...so he does have some substance in his films...they aren't mindless drivel like Sajid Khan crap.
