Anil Kapoor on why daughter Sonam is lucky for her heroes | ||
| ||
You have pretty good chances of making it big in the film industry if you are related to a star, have talent or are plain lucky. But most important is the luck factor, the lack of talent fades in comparison. The thing about luck is, it is never constant. It comes and goes. Right now the Kapoor khandaan is on a high. Rhea Kapoor's Khoobsurat starring sister Sonam has been received well by critics as well as cinema-goers. Papa Anil is even more ecstatic. "Andy Bird loved Khoobsurat and he congratulated the team. It isn't a small thing for Disney's top man to be so appreciative. Somewhere we had set out to make a typical Walt Disney-styled fairytale romance and we succeeded. It was important because this was Disney's first Indian production. And we've cracked it." The impact of Fawad Khan's role and his performance in Khoobsurat has made Anil very proud "Fawad was already a star before Khoobsurat. Now he's a superstar. Sonam is very lucky for her heroes," says Anil, pointing to the fact that some of the heroes Sonam has worked with, have gone to the next level in their careers, "Ranbir Kapoor became a star after Saawariya. Dhanush and Farhan Akhtar went to the next level in their careers after Raanjhanaa and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag respectively. Now it's Fawad's turn. We're very proud of him." Anil credits his producer daughter, Rhea, with the insight to cast Fawad. "I am proud of Rhea. She is turning out to be exactly like her mother, my wife Sunita. A no' means no and a yes' means a yes to both these ladies in my life." Both his daughters are proudly self-made individuals. Says Anil, "Sonam has never worked with any of the superstars except Salman who had a cameo in her debut film and now in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. She has achieved what she has on her own steam," concludes the proud papa. |
