why is this movie being remade? it only came out this year, so now everyone will be comparing the Bollywood remake to the Hollywood one.

Deepika can look the part with the right styling .. in the first part of YJHD she looked young and innocent .
The problem is the difference between their height ..
DP-ARK or DP-SM are better choices ..
Or it can be VD-pari ..

ya even varun looked convincing as a student..maybe this WILL work!

Deepika Padukone and Varun Dhawan are slated to play two star-crossed cancer patients in love in the Bollywood film adaptation of John Green's bestselling book The Fault In Our Stars which was made into a hit Hollywood movie this year.

It was confirmed earlier that Homi Adajania of Finding Fanny will direct the Bollywood remake of The Fault In Our Stars', but there was much speculation regarding the leading actors. We hear that Homi has fallen back on his favourite and trusted Deepika Padukone to reprise the role a cancer patient in the film. Varun Dhawan has apparently been penciled in as the male lead.

The Fault In Our Stars book came out in 2012 and became a bestseller because of its tragic love story that had its erratic bursts of humour.

Movie Review: 'The Fault In Our Stars' a poignant, faultless tale

It's the story of a cancer stricken girl who is forced by her parents to attend a support group where she subsequently meets another cancer patient, a boy and an amputee. It's a love story between the two characters.

Though the protagonists in the original story were sixteen and seventeen year olds, the Indian remake will have its cinematic liberties, it seems. We also hear that director Homi Adajania plans to sprinkle more humour in the story.

The shooting of the film is likely to begin in March 2015.

An official confirmation of Deepika Padukone and Varun Dhawan's signing in is awaited.

the book is a epic...I don't even like the film in HW...liking it in BW style is far from my league...such a beautiful love story and its going ruined by BW dumbos who can't do justice to the book...I hated the english version...

some books are better to leave it as its originals rather than making it into films and shows...Twilight series and The Fault In Our Stars is two such best written books...

I love deepika but hazel character is not for her...neither for anyone whether it's alia...pari...shraddha...

varun-deepika as a pair is odd...the height is enough to destroy the chemistry
not every couple can create what salman-sushmita and srk-sushmita did in their respective films...being difference in heights...their sheer charm creates the magic...its a odd...odd...odd pairing for me

homi is a good director but he is going to screw up...my most fav book

I loved the book..and I also liked the " If I Stay" too.
I like odd pairings and it is very seldom in BW that they cast these kind of parings. I would love to,see - Ranveer/Shraddha, Ranbir/Sonakshi, Hritik/ Sonam...

So I am keeping my mind open and hoping that it works.

The problem is the adaptation if they are adapting then they shouldn't change the key points. If they are just taking only few things from the story then they should not call it TFIOS remake.

I dont think anybody got a problem, if they make an odd mismatched lovestory of a girl falling for a younger guy it'll be a good change from the perfectly matched people falling in love but then how does it have anything to do with TFIOS? 😕

The makers should make their own story if they want to make something unusual.

Is KJO making another version? There were articles he bought the rights or something. I hope he picks Aalia if he is making one.

Atleast with Aalia it can make some sense and similarity with original TFIOS.
