Om Puri teams up with Tom Hanks

Veteran actor Om Puri will soon share screen space with Hollywood actors Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. The three talented actors will be seen together in CHARLIE WILSON'S WAR, where he will play the character of General Zia-ul Haq, late President of Pakistan.

Directed by Mike Nichols, the film will be produced by Tom Hanks and also stars Amy Adams and Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Incidentally Om Puri has worked with Mike earlier in WOLF.

"CHARLIE WILSON'S WAR is a political film set during the period when the USSR invaded Afghanistan, and America wanted to use Pakistan to get rid of the Soviets," Puri informed a website.

The film goes on floors next month.

The celebrated actor has films like CITY OF JOY, GHOST IN THE DARKNESS, WOLF, EAST IS EAST and MY SON: THE FANATIC to his credit.
