I still remember the first episode, with Rachel, Joey, and Monica. Joey tried to hit on Rachel after her wedding had been broken off.😆

Loved the show. I don't think any sitcom since has come close.

Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory, 30 Rock, Raising Hope are all great sitcoms but just not as awesome as Friends. Modern Family comes real close though.

People make a big deal of How I Met Your Mother and call it the next Friends, but the show just seemed blah and bland to me.

I'm on the same boat. See on Friends all the characters were funny. HIMYM had one really funny character and that was barney--everyone else was alright. I don't think everything comes close b/c Friends was laugh out loud funny and consistently funny for 10 years. Shows like MF, The Office, TBBT, etc. have great seasons and some great episodes, but they also have loads of weaker episodes. Which was never really the case for Friends.
