@bold: Well I thought there was some context there...she meant that her father didn't LAUNCH her career by producing a film for her...she got Saawariya and D6 on her own merit...I think that is what she was trying to say...but obviously it SOUNDS like she is saying that her father never made any film for her...obviously Aisha and now Khubsoorat were produced by him...

The bigger problem is her temper...that is what I meant by what a sensitive soul she is...baat dil pe lagaa leti hai and then can't help but show her anger/hurt over it even to innocent bystanders like Niranjan who was pretty nice to her...

Let's see if age/life mellows her down a bit.

You do learn these odd titbits from this program. Like Ranbir was interning for SLB on Baji Rao 🤓. Did not know that or that SLB bought Sonam her first bag or they are such good friends who scream at each other. 😆. So much better than Karan and his gossip fest.

As for Sonam, oye , even Colin Firth who played Mr.Darcy so well I am sure is not quite like Mr.Darcy. Neither are the British RL higher version Prince William or Prince Harry. She needs to live in the real world 😳.

There is something compelling though about her and her earnestness to live for the beautiful things in life like books and museums, clothes. I do not like her much as an actress but she marches to her own drum beat and I do like that about her very much especially in an industry of clones.

I really began to like Sonam and her performance in Raanjhana, last year, and she sounded level-headed and sober in most of her interviews cuz I think most of the interviews revolved around Dhanush + KWK with DP was a past memory + Sonam wasn't the focus of Raanjhana + neither was it a family production. And now, she's back! 😆 😛

haha yeah I loved the irony of that...Ranbir-Sonam once worked together researching for Baajirao Mastaani and now Ranveer-Deepika are STARRING in it😆...SLB really believed in Sonam at one point...wonder if he still does.

I also like that Sonam has an individuality to her even though yes she does need to wake up to the harsh realities of the world.

Yes, he sure does. Thats what he had to say about Khoobsurat:

Hrishikesh Mukherjee had written Khoobsurat especially for Rekha whom he affectionately called Chinnapunuwhich means 'Little Daughter' in Tamil.

Now would Anil Kapoor's Chinnapunu be able to deliver in the iconic role?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali who introduced Sonam in Saawariya seems to think so.

Says the filmmaker, "I see a tremendous growth in Sonam. There're a lot of positive vibes surroundingKhoobsurat. The songs are nice and she's dancing with confidence. I can see my discovery is enjoying what she's doing."

Trade analyst Komal Nahata thinks there's no need to compare Sonam's interpretation of the Khoobsurat fire-cracker with the one Rekha played 34 years ago.

Says Nahata, "I don't think Sonam needs to be compared. It's perfectly fine if she is good in her own right. Sonam doesn't need to surpass Rekha to make her mark. And in any case surpassing Rekha is a tall order. Why burden Sonam with that? If she goes beyond what Rekha did...great! But even if she doesn't, it would just be fine if Sonam lived the role in her own way."

Komal reminds us that the film is not a frame-by-frame remake. "So I think comparing the two is not required."

Film critic Raja Sen is looking forward to seeing what Sonam has done in Khoobsurat. "Rekha is certainly an icon. But frankly, she was never among the finest of actresses. Much applause for the eyes and the kohl. But performance-wise for a career that long, there are very few genuine triumphs. More than Rekha, Khoobsuratwas made iconic by Hrishida. And he's a tough act to follow up."

Raja feels the remake wears a bright inviting look. 'The shiny-happy-Disney mood of the remake makes the new Khoobsurat look like it is targeted at a totally different audience. And that may finally prove a smart move. Looking forward to Khoobsurat because what Shashanka Ghosh has done with it should be fun."

I want her to get that FILM which will make the public go AWW!!!

But I hope she also controls little bit of that mouth not much otherwise she will not be the Sonam we like...😛

I am hoping that she gets her due and is up running for the number slot like others. But I have to say that two of my favorites gets analyzed and dissected the most...

I have to agree with you here. He didnt do his homework well, otherwise he would have known that her family is very important for her & questions on them were the best way to have her really open up for the "difficult part" of the IV.

He thought that some small talk about fashion would do the trick. 😆

Had he started the iv by making her comfortable first, she wouldnt be so defensive & he wouldnt have lost the plot.

But he admitted it himself in the previews, so I really respect him for that. This show is definitely better than KwK imo.

OMG! Is BajiRao the movie Sonam was considered for but didn't get? 😲

I'm so intrigued with which roles she didn't get. Most of the time when directors want her it's usually a good fit.

SO glad she called out her choices in Players and Thank You. Good girl, now less of that kind of work and more versatile stuff.

She's the daughter of an actor whom everyone loves - anil kapoor is a class act

I just don't get how sonam is like this...seems like her parents didn't scold her or point out her mistakes while growing up...wish they did...it wud have saved her alot of hurt during her film career

When i watch a sonam interview i literally cringe within 2 mins,...and it's a miracle if she doesn't say anything ridiculous throughout the whole interview

she said this about deepika but i want to say sonam is actually the 'good girl gone bad'

wish she wud jus do her work n keep quiet like katrina(not saying katrina is role model or anything) or look at anushka...has been quietly working n now she'll be back with a bang
