I watched Finding Fanny on Sunday in a multiplex in Cochin and I loved the movie. was surprised to see 90 % occupancy in the hall because two regional superstars films was screening in nearby halls.
I prefer to watch movies in normal theatres than in multiplex cause the passive behaviour of the multiplex audience kills the excitement, but ironically the audience was laughing most of the time while watching FF.
As usual Naseeruddin Shah was amazing in the role lover Ferddie.Pankaj Kapur as Painter did his role in a remarkable manner,trust this person to handle dialogue less humour effectively. Dimple was superb too. Deepika was stunning in each scene ,I loved her appearance in moonlight . This girl can proudly believe that she reached no 1 position cause of her hard work. I mean it is not easy to get appreciated if the co stars are veterans like Naseeruddin Shah , Pankaj Kapur and Dimple. I liked Arjun in most of the scene but I think he overacted in the argument with Rosie. Even the one minute appearance of Ranveer as self loving Gabo was commendable .Homi is definitely a talented director and writer , the characterisation of each character is planned perfectly.
This movie is not for the audience who love to watch only colorful commercial movie .You cannot expect a song in every 10m, a dramatic situation before the interval or a unpredictable twist in the end. FF is a different movie with subtle humour and little bit of romance.
And I am sure that even the producers will surprised if it earned huge profit,cause the Indian audience is tuned to typical loud movies now.
