Btw, the movie is also dubbed in Hindi. So, "it's an English movie" is just an excuse.

I disagree, Poppy. Ranbir was coming off a Rockstar, where his performance was praised but the film failed to live to expectations. Priyanka has zero box-office pull. The first half of the movie had hardly any dialogues. It might as well have been in English - same effect. And, the movie had the most limp promotions ever.
FF was all over my TV screen - CNWK, JDJ, India's raw star. They were promoting it heavily at live events, on radio.
These two movies are not that different in their market reach.

Isnt it btw too early to dismiss the movie? I mean the forum dismissed Mardani too and its managing to beat films like Gunday, EV in its third week.

As per trade articles 800 screens for English and 100 for Hindi dubbed version. The big difference is a big reason for it being considered an english film mainly. The hindi dub can dilute the effect that can be their reason for putting up less for the dubbed version. Film is any way targeted at a section that goes for plexes for hollywood, rom-coms and offbeat hindi films. It depends on them if they reject it then it'll be a big failure.


I don't know every single Deepika fan can't answer that but the young fans and hardcore ones probably will. 😕
