We have the inside scoop on why Ash refused to work in a film with the Student of the Year actor

Before Sanjay Gupta announced Jazbaa as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's comeback film, there was talk that the actress might take up Sriram Raghavan's film which was an untitled project then. Reports were doing the rounds that Ash had read the script and how excited she was with the subject.

However, that excitement was short-lived as Ash refused to do the film citing various reasons. The film we are talking about is none other than Badlapur that has Varun Dhawan along with Huma Qureshi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Yami Gautam in the lead roles.

A source tells BollywoodLife that Ash wasn't too thrilled to be part of an ensemble project and wanted a film that had her as the solo lead. "Even though she liked the subject, Ash wasn't too thrilled at the prospect of being part of a large group of actors in her come back film. Also her character has shades of grey and she didn't' want to do a negative role either."

With her exclusion, Sriram apparently did some changes to the script and got two female leads Huma and Yami to be a part of the fil

I feel somehw this is a bad move by aish- with the amazing cast, plot and her and varun together it would have been a sure shot hit. And its already creating interest without her imagine if she had been in it the sort of interest it would get. She should have rather gone for something substantial and had quality instant of doing something for quantity. Bt in any case it might be better for Varun coz at the moment he is the biggest star in it. Not taking anything away from the others in the movie just my perception.
