Alia Bhatt and Dulquer Salmaan to team up for Mani Ratnams next?

The hot buzz in the tinsel town is Bollywood babe Alia Bhatt of Two States fame has been approached to play the lead role opposite Mollywood actor Dulquer Salmaan in Mani Ratnam's next. Touted to be an intense romantic film, Mani Ratnam has retained his regular, AR Rahman for the music, say sources. But Alia Bhatt's camp has denied any such development. "To the best of my knowledge, there is nothing in the offing with Mani Ratnam," said Alia's spokesperson.

Meanwhile, Dulquer Salmaan has neither refuted nor approved the reports. "Any confirmation or denial about my projects is done by directors," said Dulqueer to a daily. Earlier, it was announced that Mani Ratnam's next will feature Mahesh Babu and Nagarjuna as lead roles, but the project did not materialize for reasons only know to him. Now, reliable sources say Mani Ratnam has prepared a romantic tale on the lines of Alaipayuthey and is on the lookout for his leads.
