Deepika and Priyanka to dance together in Bajirao Mastani - Page 2

Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai's dance in Dola Re was indeed one of the best moments in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas. The director is planning something on the same lines yet again for his upcoming film Bajirao Mastani.

The period drama stars Bhansali's Leela and Mary Kom respectively, and the director wants the two ladies to share screen space in a splendid dance-and-drama sequence, claim sources. When he can make the danseuse Madhuri Dixit and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai dance together, he can certainly pull off this act as well.

As Sanjay Leela Bhansali gears up for Bajirao Mastani, the director has in mind a lot of confrontation sequences and a dramatic dance-off between Kashibai (Priyanka Chopra) and Mastani (Deepika Padukone) -- two women in Peshwa Bajirao's (Ranveer Singh) life.

Even though Bajirao Mastani remains a quintessential love story between Bajirao and courtesan Mastani, Priyanka's role is not something tagged as a "walk-on".


"Though the film is named after Mastani (Deepika) the other woman in Bajirao's life, Kashibai has an equally important role in SLB's script," a source is quoted as saying. Pee Cee will be seen as the less aggressive Kashibai. It's being said that Priyanka's role has been rewritten to suit her stature as an actor.

There's still time for Bajirao Mastani to go on the floors as all three -- Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra -- are busy with their respective projects.

Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra are yet to share screen space, but they did make an appearance together in Koffee With Karan last season.

They can never recreate the fleet footed magic of Mads-Ash. ❤️

I am really really not looking forward to watching PC in a historical. She'll look ridiculous. 🤣

But she will, it is a brainer, walk away with all the accolades & that is what matters at the end of the day.
