After playing an ambitious street fighter in Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen as a nomad who entertains people while on his travels, in Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha.

Revealed our source from the film's unit, "RK plays a free spirit who wants everybody around him to be happy. He doesn't have a permanent home but wanders from place to place, going out of his way to please people."

In Corsica, RK's character bumps into Deepika's character, who as Mirror had reported earlier (July 26), is a fan of the French comic series, Asterix, which is set in Corsica. She has set out on an adventure, following the trail of a character in the series. Turns out RK is equally fascinated with the same series and together they explore the island, forming a troupe of sorts and staging dramatic plays and falling passionately in love along the way.

The source added, "There are several sequences which have RK and Deepika dabbling in dance and staging skits for the locals. The troupe is one of the reasons for the film's title which also refers to the Shakespearean monologue, 'All the world's a stage and all the men and women merely players'."

The first schedule of Tamasha wrapped up in Corsica on July 30. After finishing some portions of Jagga Jasoos in the coming weeks, Ranbir-Deepika will go back to shooting the film in North India in November.

He can play himself. No bathing. No brushing.

Sounds like any other Imtiaz film to me.

What would an Indian nomad be doing in France.

Sounds similar to Albela, Safari, and other old 'sada hua' movies.

So basically it's like any other film by Imtiaz Ali + YJHD.
I look forward to Tamasha but I find Imtiaz overrated. He may showcase actors chemistry in a good way but other than that, almost all his films bored me.. Rockstar was a boring torture, couldn't finish it. LAK was meh, haven't seen Highway. Only liked JWM/Cocktail.

Don't think this film will became as big of a hit as YJHD. Ayan M is more of a commercial director than Imtiaz. Like someone mentioned Imtiaz Ali films tend to get boring. But let's see what happens.
