If the organisers of Havoc 2014 have their way, Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Katrina Kaif will come together at Havoc 2014 - a fashion extravaganza with a difference.
Ritz Kapadia and designer C Raj confirmed in an interview to a TV channel on Sunday that they have approached the four - Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Katrina Kaif to support the cause. Over 1,500 poor and underprivileged students and street kids in Mumbai and other metros will be provided books, school uniforms and school fees and accommodation for about two years, informed Dream Revolution Entertainment CEO Ritz Kapadia. NGO Havoc 2014 plans to provide vocational and technical training to 2,000 women in India this year to enable them to earn their livelihood and become financially independent.
Over 25 designers, 10 NGOs, five fashion institutes, 200 fashion designing students and about 100 models have come together to put together Havoc 2014 - a fashion extravaganza for a cause. The movement is spearheaded by Kapadia, designer C Raj and journalist and publicist Flynn Remedios. "This is not a fashion show. It's a movement in support of the girl child and was conceptualised by my NGO Havoc," Kapadia said. NGOs like Arpan, Uday, Mother Teresa's Sevadham, FEN and others are part of the show.
Adding to this, Raj said, "About 10 designers will show case their collections on August 13 this year in Mumbai. This is also a platform for aspiring designers and fashion and apparel designing students to come together on one platform and showcase their products and designs. A contest for aspiring student designers will be part of the event and an opportunity for other artisans like singers and musicians to perform to a discerning audience of over 3,000 selected guests." Several Bollywood actors and other celebs are expected to attend the event. Well-known fashion designers like Raj, Shiva and Raymond Fernandez will also conduct a workshop for students at the event.
An exhibition and sale of handicrafts and exquisite designer garments and exclusive hand-made apparel will be also be part of the event.
The day-long mega event featuring a 10-hour-long fashion show is the main highlight of the event.
