Mehdi Hassan is much classically trained. His ghazals are so difficult to sing also known as Shehenshai-e-Ghazal, he also made a name for himself in Pakistani playback music, him along with Noor Jahan , Mussaat Nazeer, Begum Akhtar, Tasawur Khanum songs had that impact that most of their songs have been re used in bollywood films in 90's . Even Lata treats Mehdi Hassan like her teacher. His voice is superb.

Muhammad Rafi is classically trained too. His voice is superb too.

It's hard to say. I would say Mehdi Hassan.😛
