Did PC Turn Down Akshay?

Mumbai: There's a good chance Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra will get to revive their on-screen chemistry soon. The two used to be one of the most hit on-screen jodis of early 2000s. They were even considered lucky mascots by several filmmakers but their victory run was cut short when rumours of an alleged affair began to play havoc. In 2005 Akshay had to quit working with Priyanka because it was being said that his wife Twinkle Khanna was not comfortable with talks linking up Akshay and PC.

"It's very rare for two actors to strike the right kind of chemistry on screen. It's sad that the actors couldn't sustain their onscreen magic," says our source. Now we hear that Akshay and director Prabhudeva wanted to cast PC for their next film Singh Is Bling. We hear they had a closed-door meeting where PC was given a brief narration. But the deal didn't materialise.

Her close associates however, deny it. "PC is in talks with Prabhudeva for a film starring Saif Ali Khan. There is no Akshay film that she was offered," said one of them. Her spokesperson confirmed saying, "No such film has been offered to Priyanka." We tried contacting Akshay but he is in the US. But if all goes well then the two will do a music video together for which they have already given a verbal commitment.
