Guess Who?
This BIG project was to kick off long ago but it took a long time to take off. In fact, there were whispers that this film would never be made. However, finally, the leading man allotted his dates but the film was jinxed once again and the cameras couldn't roll. But things began to slide again as problems cropped up with the dates of the leading man and lady.
Now everything is sorted, the film is almost complete and the release date has been announced. However, the corporate house making this film isn't too happy with the final product and is looking at two possibilities to get them a grand opening and also take the film to the safety mark.
The corporate house has decided to capitalise on two elements while promoting the film - that the leading man will be having his release after almost a year, and that the leading pair was appreciated when they worked together earlier. Apparently, this will be their most aggressively marketed film to date.
PS: Now that's all very well for the corporate house and also for the product. But another BIG actor, who is part of another BIG venture being made by the same corporate house is not happy with this decision. This actor believes his film is bigger than other actor's film, so the focus should be on his film. Sheesh!
Guess Who?
When corporate studios and film funds started getting actively involved in filmmaking a few years ago, there was hope that they would introduce much-needed transparency and professionalism into the industry.
Although they did, every pond has some rotten fish. Take, for example, this film fund that had managed to attract investors on the basis of lofty promises and rosy projections but whose track record spoke otherwise. So much so, that it is believed that some of the investors in the fund have decided to form an action committee to examine the fund's performance and activities. No wonder, some of the fund's managers are already fishing for alternative employment.
Well, as they say, jaisi karni, waisi bharni!
Guess Who?
Why, oh why, can't corporate houses and filmmakers keep a low profile and let their products speak for themselves? There are these two filmmakers whose films were to release on the same day. They knew each film would cut into the other's film's business but they still went ahead.
Then, another corporate house decided to release its film on the same date. But after watching the film, this corporate house developed cold feet and decided to advance their release date by a week.
Well, when they make the official announcement of their revised release date, won't it be apparent that they got scared of competition? Not good for their films!
