Yes, he is definitely wrong in generalizing marriage. It didn't work for him. Many people would disagree and say marriage is the best part of their life.

But I've seen people with bad breakups/divorces simmer and stew in the loathing for years. They develop a bad taste for relationships. He sounds like one of those people. Bad marriage and now has a permanent chip on his shoulder over it. I think you let these people vent and just carry on with your day. Don't know too much about him and his wife, to comment about whose fault it was.

I'd have to agree.

Some people are not fit for marriage or societal bondage. Not everyone wants to be married and have 2.5 kids. Marriage, in our society has become means to an end, and not an end in itself. This is why I always like his later films because of their intensely cynical edge about societal institutions. It's the kind of film that shows him as a person and the concept of love beyond bondage.

Although what he says about Nargis. Stupid.

I don't understand this strong irritation towards Imtiaz.

Frankly. Am anything but surprised since his movies underline his ideas - opinions, very, very clearly.

And I totally agree. Not everyone's dream is to have a whitewashed house with a picket fence, a wife & kids.

With an ever increasing divorce rate, I completely agree with him.

I much rather take his "pseudo intellect" honesty to manufactured lies.

like i said she was always in love with saif yet she got married..that was just stupid
