No offense but the same can be said about Dilwale. If Dilwale can earn as much as it did with all kinds of protest and a clash and full on negative campaign then underestimating Raees is a bit silly just like overestimating it would be. Nobody knows how the movie will turn out. All we're going by here is the first look. One that is probably the best first look we have seen of any movie in the recent times and no I'm not being biased when I say that. As for Sultan, I don't think we should underestimate it either. Ali might not been known as the greatest director but he is known for making entertaining movies. I quite enjoyed his MBKD. The most important factor here is there should be no protests when it comes to Raees. I think that's something hardly anyone is considering as people think the authorities will spring into action. The authorities will only do that if they're told to. And these right wing groups will concoct all sorts of reasons to protest if they wish to. They didn't let Bin Roye release in Maharashtra so Mahira being in Raees would be a reason enough for them if they're in the mood to protest. That's all I'm apprehensive about. At the end of day both Shahrukh and SK have their own set of fans so those people will definitely make a choice. As for the neutral it depends on what kind if movies they turn out to be. Raees from the first look of it seems like an intense movie. The clash ain't bothering me as much as the apprehension regarding protests.

Dilwale is the first film to cross 400 crore in a clash,I am not going into the other things that happened with it..So all the pharpharana should stop right now.Pehle clash karlo then hum baat karenge.I will anyday praise BM for surviving the clash so well and winning it in domestic market other than the films which never clashed.Shahrukh again won the clash even when people thought iss baar to Shahrukh haar gaya.Competition Tagra tha but the movie that won the clash is Dilwale,till now,kyunki hisab worldwide hoti hai,domestic ya overseas mein nehi.

Clash karna hai kare,nehi karna hai na kare but Shahrukh should and will never avoid clash just because the opponent is apparently popular than him because no he is not.Aur allah kare mujhe koi masterpiece dekhne ko na mile.

Let the movies release. Every movie has its own fate. If Raees is meant to do darn well then it will even with a clash.

HNY was not a bad movie that everyone is making it out to be. It was a mindless family entertainer. i enjoyed it, i watched it twice. But Kick and PRDP were two movies that i couldnt even finish. i stopped almost halfway and never went back to finish it.

Edit - i wasnt talking about srk or sallu star power. I was saying that it doesnt matter if Sultan is a good movie or not because his fans will watch it and make it hit like his other movies. But its SRK who always has to take the brunt if he makes mindless movies, the critics and his fans judge him, unlike other actors, he can never get away with nonsense. Even in this thread there are so many people worried about the quality of the film.

so the ONLY best thing that CAN happen and that CAN shut the mouths of everyone is CLASHING and WINNING. thats the only way srk can shut these haters for once and for all ... so i think srk is very very wise this time and clashes the movie only and only if he is super confident abt it...salmans starpower wont matter at all if sultan is bad and raees is good...we saw what happened with dilwale.. ppl chose the better movie over the more popular star... so its clear that audience taste is changing and in no way they will watch a bad movie if they have the option of a good movie. But then tgere is another factor..the protests.. protests do have potential to harm a movie... par agar movie sachme bohut achchi ho toh it can outweigh that factor...
