@SIR.MEOWINGTON
Tried Korra and failed miserably. Looks like my expectations were sky high compared to Aang's version so I didn't like it much

Btw has anybody watched The Wild Thornberrys?! I loved that cartoon too

I know what you mean, Legend of Korra in spite of all the efforts and everything in the style has yet not been able to create the same magic of Aang.

The first one had humor, story, emotions everything in it. Also in a very balanced way.

You know I have seen all the episodes of Aang at least 5 times, even more. 😆
I can just watch it again and again with the same interest. 😆

Loved Heidi. Also liked Speed Racer & Johnny Quest

Nowadays, horrible stuff is on the kids channels...Oggy and the cockroaches, Shinchan 🤢 🤢 YUCK!

There are nice ones too these days for example; The Adventure Time With Finn & Jake, The Amazing World of Gumball, Young Justice, Generator Rex etc. My niece watches these cartoons religiously and I sit with her at times and these aren't that bad. In fact I love the Gumball cartoon

Those fantastic days!!!!
5PM Disney fun time on Doordarshan with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy.
6-7 PM Disney Hour on Zee- Talespin, Duck Tales, Gummi bears, Darkwing duck, Goof troop, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Rescue Rangers Chip and Dale.

Cartoon network was addiction. I remember for sometime we did not have cable TV at our home so we would go to nani's house to watch all cartoons! 😊
I love all Hanna Barbera stuff - Yogi bear, Atom Ant, Secret squirrel, Squidly Diddly, Touche Turtle, Droopy dog, Josie and the Pussycats, Top cat, Augie Doggie and Doggie daddy, Magilla Gorilla, Flintstones, Jetsons, Scooby Doo, Wacky Races, Laff-a-lympics, Muttley, Blue Falcon and Dino Mutt, Richie Rich, Heathcliff, Marmaduke, Winnie Witch, Ricochet Rabbit, Quick draw McGraw, Penelope Pitstop, Hillybilly bears, Wally Gator, Clue Club, Pixie Dixie and Mr Jinks, Snagglepuss, Huckleberry Hound ...they had so many wonderful cartoons! Even the 5 minute shorties were entertaining and memorable!

Power Zone was my favorite hour. Action packed! 👏Space ghost, Birdman, Fantastic four, Galtar and Golden Lance, Thor, Swat kats, Thundercats, Johnny Quest, Shazzan, Sky commanders, The Centurions (Power extreme!!), GI Joe, The Galaxy Trio, Mighty Mightor, Moby Dick, Flash Gordon...

Addams Family, Bugs and Daffy Show, Looney Tunes are other iconic cartoons which they missed.

Popeye show, What a cartoon show, 2 stupid dogs, Dexter...

Batman, Justice League, Superman and DragonballZ were also fab but I guess they came in 2000s.

On Star Plus there was Fox Kids every evening, on which we watched Spiderman, Fantastic 4,Silver Surfer, The Incredible Hulk, Ninja turtles and Dungeons and Dragons.

He Man, Jungle Book, Daanu Dinosaur, Guchha were dubbed cartoons on DD 1. Never missed those either. Especially during summer vacation!

I missed them so much when they were taken off air. 😭

I did not like CN cartoons dubbed in Hindi. It seemed weird. 😕

Today's kids do not even know what entertainment is! Chota Bheem and other crap is not even laughable in comparison to past cartoons. Old cartoons were appealing even to adults.

Thanks for this thread. Sheer nostalgia!😊

Heidi and Smurfs are from 2000s. But lovable cartoons, especially Heidi. Nick came to India in 2001 I guess. Early stuff was great - Wild Thornberrys, Hey Arnold, Rugrats and game shows like Figure it out. Their other shows like Kenan and Kel, Amanda show, Drake and Josh were also super fun.
In non cartoon category, I think dubbed shows like I dream of Jeannie, Silver spoons, Dennis the Menace, Bewitched, The three Stooges on Sony and Small Wonder on Star Plus, Himgiri ke Veer on Zee TV, Oshin on Doordarshan were legend!😊

Miss those days...wish could go back in time...
