Ranbir Kapoor took a brief break from promoting Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil to bring in his 34th birthday late Tuesday night with buddies, Arjun Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, on the sets of Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos in Mumbai. RK was filming for the night portions when Arjun and Aditya dropped by to surprise him.

"Since Ranbir is a soccer fan, the unit had arranged for a customised football-shaped cake. Composer Pritam who was in Lisbon for Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma's The Ring flew down early to be a part of the celebrations," reveals a source from the sets.

Arjun and Aditya walked in at 11.30 pm and hung out with the birthday boy till 1 am. While the twosome headed home after that, Ranbir returned to work. Earlier this year, the actor had shot for the comedy-drama in Morocco before the last schedule brought the team back to the Bay.

Papa Rishi took to the social media to wish him too. "Happy Birthday Ranbir! God bless. Bas apna kaam achcha karo! We are proud of you," wrote the veteran actor, posting a cheeky picture of a grumpy cat holding up a sign board which read, "I'm not Ranbir's mailbox," and added that he'd be happy to take messages for his son only till his birthday lasts.
